Coming down good in Danbury right now, so apparently when you get a new transaxle, radiator and tranny cooler they don't flush the system or replace hoses or fill coolant even though it cost 7k

Filled just the radiator, all that was in the overflow reservoir was rotted tranny oil

After all these years i'm now involved with my first ever issue with a purchase that wasnt minor and easily rectified. I had to file a Paypal dispute this am.
Dude on CF (sounds like a kid on phone) was selling a 5 speed ZJ. It's a trashed POS and no one would bite at 600 so he said he was going to scrap it. I made an agreement for the 5 speed specific parts shipped to me, just before sending payment he sent a pic as requested by me and i noticed the brake pedal assembly was missing. Told him i needed that as well.. and would like the inner shift boot.
He responded saying the inner boot was trashed and the brake pedal assembly was almost out of the vehicle. So i sent payment..
Package arrives yesterday, brake pedal missing. In addition the shifter boot has a two inch tear that wasnt disclosed and missing the shifter indicator (shifter knob also damaged). So i call him, point out the issues and what he sent me cannot be used without the brake pedal.. it's useless. Told him i'm going to need the brake pedal assembly shipped on his dime or he can refund me fully and have his parts back. He told me to let him think about it and he'd get back to me.
After that call i get annoyed with the whole situation and request he just send me my refund and he can have his parts back. He offers me a partial refund.. and tells me to keep the parts.
I explain i cant use the parts delivered without the parts that are missing. He finally concedes that the rig has been scrapped. Then i tell him i'll need the full refund. It's not my fault he took payment and shipped without the missing parts, he was advised of it before i paid up. He chose to ignore it..
He can pay me to ship his parts back..after i get a full refund.

Yep, he's entitled to every penny i sent him.. so long as i receive everything i paid for. Told him i'd eat the damaged parts but need the missing.
Thing that bothers me the most is he knew before shipping that i needed those parts.. and he ignored it thinking he could get away with it. We'll see about that..

Can't do anything about the shift boot, but you can probably make one of those. Leatherwork isn't all that difficult.
find a way to keep the parts if you can... I've got some ideas.

ideas meaning I have a pedal and bracket assembly spoken for (they are looking for it in the yard and will get back to me in a few days) at a local we-pull yard. I will either sell it to you for what I paid, or measure it and make an upgraded copy for you for free/a sixpack or something.. I have more friends who want 5 speed ZJ pedal boxes than there are pedal boxes in the junkyard, so I'm going to see if I can make a jig to duplicate them and put two or three together.
Unfortunately this all hinges on getting the pedal box from the yard, but hopefully they still have it. They weren't sure if they crushed it when I called.
edit: what I'm saying is - if you can, stall for a few days till I get a solid answer on the pedal box. If I can get it, accept a partial refund and I'll cover you on the pedal box, otherwise, do what you will...

for the ZJ shifter boot...I don't see ANY listed online except on one site that never has what they advertise (factorychryslerparts.scumbags)....but, I'd try calling around a few dealerships to see if any might be able to search in their system to see if any place might have one hiding on the shelf. part number 53007070 turns to 52104159AB...you might get lucky. Otherwise, as you said, I'm sure you could have one made for not all that much.

yeah, **** factorychryslerparts. Not only do they advertise EVERYTHING, they whore the shit out of google's database and when you order something, they grab your money, ship nothing, and ignore all contact. I had to sic my bank on them to get my money back after several months of waiting and attempting to contact them.
