Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't know if it's a curse or a blessing that I rarely have any 'simple' stories in my life.

So I went through the pre-approval process for the mortgage this morning, got that all straightened out, paired it with the contract, and my broker contacted the listing agent with the offer.

Get a call back 10 minutes later that the listing agent had contacted the owner - or, tried to anyway. Turns out the owner passed away this morning, less than two hours ago.

Soooo I think it'll be a couple days before I hear anything. Not sure what affect that'll have on the deal.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did the owner die in the house you are trying to purchase?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh shit - well that'll throw a wrench in things.

No. That'd probably creep me out a bit, but with a full renovation...eh, I guess it'd be OK.

From what I can tell, last month she was moved to a nursing home and her remaining family/relatives were handling the house deal (they still have power of attorney). So I dunno if it was some kinda medical complication or what but it appears that it's not entirely unexpected. It'll probably be a few days for funeral arrangements etc but I'm pretty sure they were prepared to handle it on her behalf anyway.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

An old lady's house requires a full renovation just to get the old-person smell out. That would bother me more than a death in the house.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

made it to denver, just about to board the short flight up to jackson hole now. god I forgot how much my back hurts me on 4+ hr flights. reading cover to cover on diesel and muscle car magazines.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yipee $80 in bolts washers and locknuts from mcmaster for spring hangers and leaf springs

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hardware adds up in price depressingly fast.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

tractor supply bolts by the pound is the best thing ever.

that is insane.

is there anything special about it? or just long 14mm bolts, locknuts and washers for the springs/shackles, and some smaller (3/8" to 1/2" depending on the application) bolts with locknuts.

We go through a spring company for all our shackle and hanger stuff and thats the hardware they generally supply us with.

Cause I was stipid and ordered a 25 pack of 5/8 locknuts when I only need 2 and same with washers

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thinking about it I probly should of just ordered flanged bolts n nuts for the leafs

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's why I tried to use a lot of the same hardware when building the shit on my MJ. All the suspension components use 5/8" bolts where possible (LCA, UCA, trackbar, steering, rear UBEs) and some are even the same length.

Hardware adds up FAST.

I don't want to think about how much money I've blown with mcmaster.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
