THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

New front x-member. I was thinking of 2x6, but I want it a little taller to protect the radiator better/easier. The radiators hang stoopid low on ZJ's. Speedymetals will ship me a 36" section for $75, but I was hoping to get something locally to avoid the shipping costs.

Should be able to get a drop somewhere for much cheaper than that.

EDIT: There's a big metal shop in Raynham that's real close to where I work- forget the name of it right now but they might be able to do something for you. There's also one in Taunton about a half mile from where I work.

Double edit: Shop is called Ryan Iron Works.

That's what I figured. They only wanted ~$47 for the steel, but shipping is ~$25, so it's really not worth it. Dennis said he'd ask around for me, and I can always call Dennis Lewis, or the guys at Arc in Waltham if I need to. I got dem hookups brah, NBD

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got 2x6 and 3x6 laying around if you can use that pat. they have better then half tread too!! if not, theres turner steel in bridgewater. im buddy buddy with owners son so I bet he could hook me up with a drop of something you could use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The place me and bradley buy from out in Southbridge would probably hit you for less than $50 for that.

Word. I'd prefer to use 2x8, but if I have to I'll use 2x6. I'll let you know if I need that connect yo.

EDIT: Could you leave a chunk of 2x6 out for me to grab when I drop off the trailer? I'll give you some man love, or cash, whatever you prefer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's been a while but I spent 7 years of my pre-college-grad life doing general contracting and all phases of residential construction. Lots of ideas are starting to come back to me. :)
I worked a few summers doing construction with my dad. so, its nice not being completely naïve to the process. I hated it then, but the knowledge learned certainly comes in handy now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What's the name of the place?
Accurate Metals in Southbridge on 131. If they don't have it try D&D Engineering about a mile further toward town.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Accurate Metals - Box tube, angle, plate, they always have a whole bunch of stuff. I'm a bit negotiable on what I need generally so I've never left without something I could use to build what I need.

I haven't tried them for DOM tube yet, but I'm sure they could order it.

D&D Engineering has an awesome selection of small-size DOM and stuff like that to look through for bolt sleeves through frames and stuff like that, I haven't gone through them for structural stuff yet. I saw a very large rack of stuff, just haven't had to check through it yet because Accurate's always had something I could use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mhm. 5guys?

Bill coming??

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh I figured you could just meet me at my work area (Marlborough) and we could just go somewhere around here.

Bill's too lame to drive all the way down to my house for five guys.

:D

But I don't know if he can even come tonight, he said he's waiting to hear back on some flooring that might come in later today.

There's 5 Guys in Marlborough, just on the exact opposite side from where you're at Colon.

EDIT: And before anyone beats me to the punch, I'm ****ing fat, of course I knew where 5 Guys was.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bill is such a loser. I don't care where I drive to cause I'm not a pansy, so whatever is cool with me
