THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So Ken and Adam will at least laugh at this.
I am looking to hire someone and I put out a really simple questioner for those that submitted applications.

Here is a quote from part of it and the response of someone:
1) Do you have experience with any of the following? Please scale 0 (none), 1 (low) - 5 (high)
...
d. MS Active Directory (4)
e. Drive mapping (3)
g. Windows Server OS (0)
...
q. Network Switch architecture (0)
r. VLANs (4)
Oh really?
No experience with Win Server at all, but pretty good at AD?
No experience with networking, but good with VLANs?

At the top in big bold letters I stated to "be honest".

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How's the build quality? Noticeably different than RS?

The heims on the TR Motorsports car are from RuffStuff and are clanking pretty good already, after not even a full season of racing. In Tim @ LII's experience the FK's last easily 2-3 times longer; he's still running some from the first evolution of the Blackbird rig from a few years ago.

Plus up front the radius arms are going to be rigidly mounted to the axle so each side is only gonna have one joint in the entire arm. Figured that wasn't the spot to skimp for the small price difference.

1 1/4" heims look proportional when used with 2.25" DOM.

They look retarded when used with 1.75" DOM.

It'll be 2" aluminum for the rear lowers and fabricated 1.75" DOM radius arms for the front...not entirely happy about that but I'm finding there's a very good reason why everyone else does it that way.

No idea what any of that crap means, but can I move into my room at the new house yet?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

vetteboy is going to be running a dana 35 with a radius arm.

ha.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thank you so much.

Pat, my Dad said $200 each if you're interested.

Fo sho. I'll let you know when I get em rolling.

Just got my new rod ends from FK. These 1-1/4" heims seem stupid big when you look at 'em by themselves.

I never realized this until I had one in my hand. Granted I have child's hands, but they're ****ing huge joints.

EDIT: Good to meet you Scott, now get the Jeep going and come wheeling!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Only one needs to roll, you can just whoop shit in the back of the zj to make up for the missing weight of the axle he said.

Wow, that's retarded. I have only passing familarity with any of it but I'm available and learn quickly if needed :dunce:

Time to go drop the exhaust on the MJ and see if my cat melted and caused my lack of power issue. I suspect the semi crushed exhaust plus a leak upstream of the cat resulted in a rich exhaust condition and melted the cat down because it's been losing power rapidly since FC. It's actually gotten to the point now that it's difficult to maintain 40-50 in hills and it really doesn't sound good, but isn't blowing smoke, so I don't suspect a ring/cylinder wall issue anymore like I initially did.

I kept a bottle of power steering fluid under my hood once. well one day it slipped to the front of my airbox, and i had almost no balls, and could barely hold 40mph on my way to mabell. made it to mabell, popped my hood to take a look, and duh, collapsed airbox with a bottle of ps fluid in the inlet.

kind of relevant?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's fracka-lackin!

... well it was running in a mill and motor because the sand jet perforating tool got screwed up because a different third party is dumb and didn't listen. Cost the operator almost $100K for that mistake.

Rockin' in the Bakken but I'm glad to be heading home. Living in a man-camp for two weeks sucks. It's like a dorm... but no alcohol, naked chicks and all you do is work.

Lol. Well, I have some AD experience but never used it from the server side. But I would say 2 there, not 4. And the networking one seemed like a reeealllyyy basic question. Yea, some peeps is dumb.

Cool beans. Didn't realize the fks were that much better.

Didn't I asked you? I know I at least texted you. If you are serious and are willing to make the drive for 10-15hours a week. Call me.

It was basic, meant to show me how you answer questions. I had by similar questioner for my first job and that's all it was for, it is were i got the idea. I have no problem hiring someone that doesn't know everything (heck, with the amount of hours available it isn't like I'm getting the good folks anyway). But answer dumb like that you aren't even getting an interview and wasting both our time.
This is a dumb, "my printer is jammed" or "i can't set up my email" job nothing more.

Don't think you did, but my phone's been in and out of service and frequently uncharged/off for the last few weeks so there's a chance I just missed it or something. It took a swim a while ago, too. I'll call you tomorrow... it's not exactly what I'm looking for, but honestly whatever pays the bills and is something I am capable of performing well at this point.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

fellas, what's your take on load range e tires on an xj? my current ones are and i'm use to the ride, semi sucks but I don't necessarily only attribute it only to the tires, but I found a set of a michelins at a great deal...only load range e.

what say you?

Stupid. Loud. No traction. But will last forever.

Just bought a wilwood adjustable proportioning valve for my brakes... Hopefully I'll be able to stomp on them without doing a 180 once I get it in

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

jeff, how much for the michelins and what size? if you pass on them send me a PM...I just bought new tires but I seem to drive an assload, so if they're a steal maybe I'd be interested and put em in the basement for a year or two :)
