THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I figure I'll do the MJ over the winter.

I have a bunch of maintenance stuff to do to the Dodge.

Just ordered a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust for $300 shipped to my door.

The current exhaust is literally rotting away. I think maybe half of the exhaust actually makes it out the tailpipe.

I also really should get my e-brake working. I need to reseal the third brake light (weeps some during a hard rainstorm, winter will be worse), check the front end out (something finally loosened up) and I want to flush the power steering system with synthetic fluid before winter hits since the pump was screaming for mercy during cold start-up last winter.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

about the seals- whatever asshole.

about the exhaust- where'd you order it? straight pipe?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nah no straight pipe.

I just ordered it through Geno's Garage. Ordered a bunch of stuff through them before and they always have the best prices/service.

Not blowing money on an intake or chip. It's been rock solid reliable for the past 80k+ miles. Don't feel like messing that up.

That sounds about like the one I got...straight pipe w/resonator?

Does yours have the dumb small outlet from the turbo or is it true 4" all the way back?

I've never done front axle seals in anything I've owned...I've had them leak before but never bad enough for me to wanna do anything about it.

Mine's still parked since Monday. Haven't even looked at it.

Meanwhile I'm now past 5,000 miles on the blue XJ. I think it needs brakes. Sounds like a good opportunity to grab some used pads off a junk axle.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Same... turns out my leaky d30 seal loses less than a tablespoon a year, I tried to care and then realized I really didn't.

Its a 60 dollar bent 30 with 3.55s in it... nothing will make me care except the seals falling out.

Yeah it has a muffler/resonator thing. Not just straight pipe. I asked the guy and he said it is 4" right from the turbo all the way back, though in the picture it looks like it's 3" right where it connects to the turbo.

I did front axle seals in my brother's D30 only because it was leaking a decent amount.

I don't plan on putting a tune on it because it drives/tows just fine. Fixing the little maintenance things eats enough of my time.

Flap disk on the rotors and pad slap that bitch.

Yep that's what I had. I'm pretty sure yours does have the smaller turbo outlet & elbow but it should sound pretty close to mine. I just did that because it was pretty much the cheapest complete setup I could find and my muffler was exploded too.

I'm scared to touch anything on it. With the exception of the fuel pump and t-case seal I haven't even looked at any part of this damn Jeep. I have no idea what kinda condition the steering, ball joints, unit bearings, etc are in. All I know is it goes down the road perfectly with a couple clunks & rattles here and there and I don't wanna wreck its mojo.

On second thought, my cost for a new set of pads from Napa is less than $20. That's probably cheap enough to justify being lazy and ordering them rather than scrounging for a junk D30 with half-life pads.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris you know anything about setting up a remote filler on fuel cells?

I really need to install one on the MJ. The tubing/radiator is in such a way that it makes it a huge mess trying to pour gas in with any kind of jug (I have to dangle it above the tubing, use a funnel, and hope most of it makes it in).

I tried reading about some of it on Pirate. Is there a 45º filler neck that fits my RCI pattern and does it use like a flapper or something to keep gas in the cell rather than the clear fill tubing?

EDIT: Something like this:

This is what I currently have:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RCI-7036A/

Could I use these two?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah I did one on mine.

Look on Summit, that's where I got my filler stuff from...

If the bolt pattern looks right then it'll fit...there's only a couple that are used across the industry. Mine was the round pattern on a Jaz cell and I used a Summit-branded filler neck without a problem.

They're freakin proud of that filler hose though...a cool hundo for a length of plastic with a filler cap on one end. Guarantee I'll be re-using that. Do yourself a favor and use a rivet to attach a small length of chain to the cap so you don't have to worry about putting it somewhere while fueling up.

And yeah there's a spring-loaded flapper in the bottom of the filler neck, although having fuel in the plastic tube doesn't really matter, you wind up with it there when filling anyway cuz otherwise you never know when the cell is full.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cool thanks. That's on my list of shit to do over the winter.

I'm hoping that by next spring/summer I can literally just go out and enjoy my MJ all summer (Southwich, Line Mtn, wheeling) without having it half ass finished.

Like having a working dash, t-case shifters, fuel injection, fuel cell fill, finish the front tube work and door bars, finish the floors and add in cupholders on the console, nice window net mounts, make a cooler/toolbox/spare tire mount in the bed.

It's the little shit that makes it that much more enjoyable.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cant go. Doing sidework on a dodge stratus piece of shit.

And my axle seal leaves a good half dollar sized drop on the pavement wherever i park. Thats enough for me to justify doing it. And if i have both axles out anyway id be a retard not to.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Tonight gonna finish pulling apart the stazworks, there really not bad. Then tomorow ill start cutting the rear fenders and bumper. Frt. Inner fender will get hammered to fit drivers side won't be much cause of that stupid 3rd pedal. passenger will loose a good bit of foot room. In the frt I'm gonna toss a piece of tube inside the bumper so the tire will rub that and not eat the heade rpanel

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I shouldn't go... but if enough people say they are in I will.
