THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Tuesday! One day closer o wheeling

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That blows.

I got my 136A alternator in last night. Swapped on an ancient dual v-belt pulley in 5 minutes.

Then realized how exhausted I was from the weekend and got lazy.

Tonight I'm gonna get it back down on all fours and finish bolting together the exhaust.

How I read it the first time.

Yea, I'm gonna have my 60D, and I'll prob rent a 35mm prime. I'll have my 50 f/1.8 and 28-135 f/3.5. The tele isn't that fast but the body is. I'll have my Sunpak flash or borrow my friend's (who's shooting video for the wedding) 580ex
That sounds like a pretty good plan to me. 60D, my mistake.

TENATIVE August 2013, all depends on how this building thing goes.

I'm still willing to have you if you'll photograph.
Sounds good to me.

Have any of you guys run the rusty's long arm setup? From what I've seen the general consensus is pretty split between "it works well enough for the money" and "it's rubbish, avoid at all costs".

Long story short, I've got a set available for $250 that I'm thinking of picking up just to run for a few months until I get time/money to finish the 3-link. For that price I think it would be pretty hard to go wrong, but I wanted other opinions.

I figure the LAs will let me correct my caster and see if that's the main cause of my wobble/vibrations before I start adding more home-made parts (which could introduce more/new problems if I don't get that right).

Plus if I can get the LAs on and solve my highway speed vibrations/wobble it will let me get wheeling again sooner than later which I've been itching for lately. I've been trying to convince the guy selling the parts to pull them off his rig ASAP hoping to get up to Camp UJ this weekend but that doesn't look like it's happening.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I considered some short arms but regardless of whether I build or buy that would probably cost me more in the long run, plus I work slow and the kit has the "bolt on" appeal so I can get it done quick.

I was thinking I'd run the radius arms for 2-3 months while I do my unibody plating, 2x6 rockers, truss front axle (I have a D30 for mock up and stuff), X-member, etc.

After that I'm sure I'd be able to find someone to buy that LA setup for $200-$250. That way I'd be out no more than $50 in the end and would have something to run for the time being.

:dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

For $250 you can build a radius arm setup. Bad caster? Build or buy a pair of shortarms for 100 bucks. Don't spend money on shit you're gonna run for a month then toss.
This. I hate doing "temporary" stuff now. All that means is you half ass it to get it moving, then pretend you're going to do it right later, and you never do. If you're going to buy a bolt on kit, buy one you want, or just build the one you want now and not wheel for a month.

Icarus Lives, Jetpacks Was Yes!, and Racecar are all pretty good to check out. Racecar is a good 15+ minute progressive thing with a lot of really nice changes and guitar work. All the guys are talented as hell.
