THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Seriously. Cl needs to realize that people are building alternatives because theirs SUCKS.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Work is lame.

My gf and I are going to Colorado in August. What should we do? Basically there Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun.

She wants to spend some time in Boulder.

boulder is cool, i wouldnt want to live there, but its a fun place.

colorado springs was basically one gigantic suburb from what we saw. the people who live there think its a shithole, i didnt think it was all that bad.

ouray and telluride are probably out of your way, but both are real cool small towns, lots of history and wheeling out there. in ouray only the main road is paved, everything else is dirt. i woke up one morning and there was a deer walking by the front parking lot to our hotel.

glenwood springs is kinda touristy, but nice to visit, there is a gondola ride to the top of a mountain and a bunch of caves up there. lots of history here too. a big haunted hotel that served as a hospital during world war 2, a natural hot spring (pretty commercialized, they turned it into a giant pool)

everything east of denver is pretty much kansas

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and why does it have to rain every day this week starting at the exact moment i get out of work? i hope the weatherdude XXXXed up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll mention it to her. It was her idea and her dream vacation spot so I'm more along for the ride since I don't have my MJ there

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm also strongly debating grabbing 12volt guy switch panels.

Separate ignition/winch panel that I can easily reach while buckled in, and 6 accessory switch panel on the dash somewhere for fans, compressor, lights, etc.

Boulder has no wheeling and cops yell at you if your stereo is too loud.
But you'll be barely a few hours drive from some of the best trails in the entire world... Have fun!! :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yea, craigslist is trying to make it so those sites don't work properly.

no idea why craigslist doesnt make a multiple city search function. id use it more often if they did.

Seriously. Cl needs to realize that people are building alternatives because theirs SUCKS.

One theory I read is that Ebay owns something like 25% of CL so they are two competing services. It's in ebay's interest to keep CL limited to local markets as much as possible so that people use ebay for more specific and/or long-distance searches.

Still sucks though. Autotrader & Cars.com both only have a few trucks listed with my criteria within 200-250 miles.

Guess if anyone happens to come across a decent Extended cab (supercab or supercrew) 99-03 F250/F350 powerstroke (7.3) with a manual transmission let me know. I'm considering selling the Mustang for a truck.

Deja vu, or didn't we have this discussion already?

For an electrical engineer, I have no idea why you're so hung up on switches and panels. Weatherproof switches from McMaster and a couple holes punched into a piece of sheet steel, onto the next thing. Not even a blip on my radar.

Yeah we did.

It's more of a form over function thing. Sure I could punch some holes and use whatever switch. I'm more hung up on if I want it to look nice or not

Because blingy chrome panels are gonna match anything else on your truck.

I'd rather make something that actually fits in the spot you're looking to put it, instead of cobbling shit around a fancy shiny switch panel.

Unrelated, sucks to see this thing up for sale, this guy's been a great resource for me lately.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I WANNA GO WHEELING!!!

Just emailed (one of my) bosses to see if they have any beef with me not coming in on Friday. Fingers crossed I'll get an extra long weekend :woohoo:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I gotta bust my ass this week if I want to make camp UJ. So many dumb little things to fix... and I jynxed the shit out of myself again, its gonna rain this whole week :dunce:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i should be about ready to wheel this weekend.

need to run some brakelines, figure out my rear brake hoses, install front shocks (waiting for the god damn bushings to come in) rig in something for rear shocks (temporary) and thats about it.

no bed yet, and no fuel injection yet.

not looking forward to making the bed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh, and im gonna order wheel spacers tonight.

oh, and need to replace some valve stems in 2 of these beadlocks and hope there are no other leaks.

whoever welded the rings on and kept the valve stems in the stock location is a XXXXhead

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wish I could go wheeling this weekend :(

I can't wait :D

I need to figure out harness mounting on the floor, probably do one tab on one of the rocker legs, but not sure what i'll do for the tunnel-side for a temporary fix til i get suspension seats and do snazzy seat mounts. any ideas there?

Also need to toss in a couple b pillars, no biggy i'll do that one night after work... fill up the rear diff with some gear oil, and that's about it I think. Empty out all the BS I've been using working on it the past couple weeks, and load er up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Aahahahahaha.

So bedless wheeling? I didn't get a bumper on the front, I was worried about smashing my shock resis then realized that it was rare to hit anything there.

well the only issue i forsee is fuel cell mounting. i could probably rig something up though.

i think i may just run like a 1.5 foot bed for the weekend lol, and add the rest later. i have to chop it up anyway.
