How/where did you guys get your jobs? Should be doing something different than scouring job websites and sending my resume and a cover letter to any position I like and/or qualify for? I have never gotten a reply from sending out job apps.. Ever. Even the gig I have now I got because I knew somebody.

My school's website...one of our electives had a career seminar about how to build a resume, then they posted it online with visibilty to a few search engines. I think. It was a good 9 months after I graduated that he found it.

If you know what industry you want to be in look for their trade organizations, usually by region or state and there will be job postings not on other sites
Or ball up, walk into a place you want to work and ask to see the hr person and hand them your resume and interview them
Got my Reid from ecgs.. They shipped me an extra pair of ball joints by accident.. But I didn't get the special Reid spindle stud, called Reid in cali and they're sending one out.

Adam, my first greasemonkey job I walked in and applied. Second, I came back and said "want me back?". Internships I heard about via professors who recommended me. First job I went to a job fair and listed my internship mentor at the same company as a reference and his answer was "Ken? We HAVE to get that guy in here." Still took me multiple calls and months of no answer to get in due to bureaucracy. Second job, I told them no once because they wanted me to move to NYC... then convinced myself things would actually go according to plan when they asked again a few months later. Should have trusted my gut on that one.
Next one? Dunno. I'll let you know if/when I get it :laugh2:
In other news I am building a chassis table with 2x4s, deck screws, and luck tomorrow
