THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

out at 4:00. then jeepy time.

my engine is now bolted in again with a beefed up motor mount, mount.

and my clutch fan did go into my radiator, but the radiator is fine, but my tranny cooler leaks. go figure, its on the opposite side of the radiator and a/c condensor.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:( Darn. Hopefully not to much trouble you are in.

I'm going outside right now and not coming back in at all unless I can help it all day. Yay 80+ predicted temps today!
we'll see. The police officer really didn't care, he said fine go ahead when I asked if I should just put it out now, but the FD was already on their way. He kept referring to it as a "cooking fire" and seemingly just wanted it to not happen again.

Then the fire department showed up and they take things quite seriously. It went a bit downhill from there but no paperwork was required.

As a result I have decided that my finely aged pile of demolition debris on the porch needs to go away immediately. I am tired of looking at it (really, really tired of looking at it), the fire department wasn't happy about it, and I have no excuse to leave it there especially now that I actually have more than two days a week to deal with it.

The ash pile from the bonfire is already gone. Spent last night shoveling it up.

Between Billy's jeep leaving for the lemons races and this, those who have been here may not recognize the place within a few days.

I am really hoping they don't come back for paperwork, if they do, I may have to get the remaining two jeeps out of the yard rather quicker than I was planning on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

He probably kept referring to it as a cooking fire because those technically aren't illegal and he could avoid writing you up for more serious shit. At least in my town you can have a cooking fire any time of year with no permits (though you're supposed to alert the FD that you will be having one, and a cooking fire is supposed to enclosed and, possibly, off the ground). On the other hand you need permits to have a bonfire and you can only have those during certain daytime hours or something like that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that's exactly what I was thinking/hoping.

Like I said, everything went fine till the FD showed up. They cared a lot. Not sure why... there were no chimneys for them to save... :eyes:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I guess I'm glad I live where I do. We've had some pretty raging cooking fires at my buddy's place (both at his old place which is in my town as well as in the town where he lives now, just down the street) and we've never got any shit for it. Been doing it for probably 5 years now without trouble, knock on wood.

Supposed to be having a pretty decent fire tonight if we don't change plans. Fire/Burgers/Dogs before the 10:00 Bruins game. cannot wait to get out of here.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've been having at least one 30 foot tall fire a month for the last year and a half. They didn't show up for a single one.

Then they showed up for an 8 foot fire. Probably the smallest fire we ever had here.

:dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

There's your problem! Previously your bonfires were WAY too big and the cops would have had to do a lot of paperwork and shit so they left you alone.

As soon as you tamed it down to a reasonable level and they could report it as a "cooking fire" and close it as that, well that's when you screwed yourself over.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh shit racecar.

I forgot.

don't you ever forget.

i just went to a junk yard a few years ago, armed with a $20 bill and grabbed like 5 tranny/power steering coolers that I liked.

whatever was big and fit nice, is what i used.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Definitely leaving at noon today.

I finished my transmission mount last night, just have to tack it into place.

Then I'm going to cut off my LCA mounts and get those moved outboard a bit.

Tomorrow I'm going to make the bellypan just so I can get the whole underbelly/mounts all done.

If that gets all done, I'll start the exhaust on Saturday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Those interested in the dom order is 20ft sticks fine?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah 20 ft sticks are totally fine.

Dundy, for reference since you helped me mock up my a-pillars, my full length bars were only 18.5 ft.

No bar on that jeep is going to be even close to 20 ft.
