my gf had a jetta, her mom had a passat. her dad finally said "XXXX this shit" and her mom got an accord and she got a versa after they kept breaking.

if the body of my xj wasnt shot i would still be daily driving that and i wouldnt have this pontiac.

took this from the other thread so i dont rip it apart.. i need to get rid of this vw and start saving more cash. if i can keep the XJ DD-able after a summer of wheeling, i'm tossing the vw this fall. really dont wheel much after rocktoberfest.

i need to get rid of this vw and start saving more cash. if i can keep the XJ DD-able after a summer of wheeling, i'm tossing the vw this fall. really dont wheel much after rocktoberfest.

the vw costs a good amount of cash each month. ideally, i'll keep it but have a better (higher paying) job. its like $305 to end the lease early.

Eric, you have no idea how close I came to buying that vw off you and swapping the motor into one of my jeeps in five years. Then I realized I have enough basket cases and don't need more.

You should of! After this week it will be running again. and I'm not parting with it after this. Timing set, head gasket, waterpump, harmonic balancer, ccv tube and valve, plus struts. It's got no choice but to live after this. While the heads off I'm getting the valves relapped and the head decked.

dont get me wrong, i love the thing and it was a good idea at the time, and i still think i made the right decision. but it IS keeping me from saving as much money as i'd like to. if i was making more money ( say, another $6-7 more an hour) it wouldnt be an issue.

that's how mine are painted. I just never took the painters tape off, and mine aren't chrome. but still.
