I did actually just call it a worthless piece of junk, the alternator apparently did croak. I XXXXing hate replacing alternators. Fortunately I have a spare or five sitting here and at least one of them probably works.

I'm not sure if that one is the one I'm holding right now. That one may well be sitting in the bed of the MJ. I also tripped over two in the yard and I'm pretty sure there are another few in the shed.

and yet I'm still tempted to just buy a new one off rockauto so I have a warranty.

I gave a big ass pile of shit to a scrapper a while ago because I was tired of looking at it :dunce:

edit: anyone got a renix ac delete pulley handy? not sure I want to blow 25 bucks on something that is temporary at best. Don't need the bracket, just the pulley, bearing, and mounting bolt.

if you don't have a good one Ken, I had a few random older XJ setup ones out back as 'samples'. never installed, some are mopar, some are random sources, but all have worked so far.

So here's a question for you people that know about jeep stuff.

I pulled the 249 outta my 5.9 ZJ yesterday. I was under the impression from several different sources that I'd have to swap a bunch of parts (input gears etc) to put my newly-acquired 242 in there.

It looks exactly the same though. The input gear on the 242 is the same OD, same length, and 95% sure same spline count as my 249. Am I missing something here or should it just go right in?

Washed the jeep its kinda weird having more mud then snow in feb but whatever, had a couple of toyatas a a ford rev while driveing by. Can anyone explain what the point or meaning is of reving like that?

Honestly, if I were to seriously put the briarwood up for sale, how much would you guys give me?

Keep in mind I've changed a lot of parts, and has brand new (drove less than 3 miles on) rear brakes and leafsprings. Yes it did go through a front end collision, but it is somewhat straight again, but not perfect.

Anyone do auto paint? I really need to order the new paint for my blue MJ and I can't figure out how the hell all the different paint codes and order codes and whatnot figure into things, or even where I can go online to order the paint I chose, sherwin williams ultra 7000. Every time I try and figure it out I end up giving up, frustrated.
