Got a recipe you used? I'm thinking about trying to make some of this since I'm guessing the store bought varieties wouldn't fit the low carb diet too well.

I made steak tips and broccoli covered with a bacon, mushroom, and cheese cream sauce. Came out amazing and I still have 1lb of tip steak at home. Going to experiment with steak tips again tonight... and probably again tomorrow.

make sure you use good stock, and if you have to (or had it around the house in my case) use low sodium stock, add a pinch or two of kosher salt. i gotta play with the heat a little next time bc its hard to get a good simmer with a stupid electric cooktop...

If you're on a soup kick, make this.

Friggin amazing. Not too much effort to cook it either, since most of the time it's just simmering.

Thanks. I'll have to change that a little bit (can't have the flour) but maybe I'll see how it is if I use almond flour instead. And I'll definitely substitute heavy whipping cream for the half-and-half.

I agree, I hate electric. I had gas when I was in Virgina and now that I'm back on electric (which I grew up with) it sucks and I get pissed off all the damn time.

I had the same problem with simmering last night when I was trying to reduce the cream sauce for my steak. Had a couple whiskey and cokes in me at that point too so that just multiplied the frustration.

i used half and half with mine, bc i had it. didnt really notice a difference. it wasnt as thick as i wanted (thats what she said) but i blame the simmering

No clue what that is, I'm getting a "you don't have permission" message. :dunno:

I still think one of the best soups we've made recently was the brisket and brown rice soup/stew/???. Smoked a brisket and cut up the leftovers and made a soup. It was amazing, the smokey flavor from the meat spread into the broth and was perfect.

Ah, you have to be paid to see that forum? Makes sense why I can't see it.

And I only mentioned that I would use heavy whipping cream because of the higher fat content, or more so the higher fat to carb ratio. Plus creamier soup.
