THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would rather live in the city (not the island) than upstate.

Oh hellllllll no.

Unless you live in a wicked shitty section of the city, you will pay more in parking for your 3 or 4 jeeps than you will in rent. And that's saying something.

And the city SUCKS. Smelly, bunch of dbags everywhere, costs a lot, loud, packed together like sardines. And everyone seems to smoke, probably because the city is stressful and sucks.

You hit the nail on the head. I've been to NYC multiple times and hated it everytime.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've said it before and ill say it again. I love where I am now. I just want to ne about 15 minutes north for hunting reasons.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Which one? The one about yours being almost 12º...?

I'm just not sure how, with the shoulder slots in the seat being any amount below your shoulder, you're going to get any kind of reasonable angle. If you sit back in the seat so the harness is planting you in it, the strap has to bend downward at a sharp angle, then back through the slot.

I'm probably just going to wrap them around the headrest.

EDIT: Also, I remember riding in your XJ and tightening the shoulder straps. They wanted to pull me down in the seat, not back. Not that that determines how they fit you, just something I didn't think about until now.
I'm just as tall as you, if not taller.
Does this help?

I think you are overthinking this a bunch. Your seats are probably fine. Either that or mine are terribly wrong.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

While I'm on the topic of asking for help - http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1078141

TL;DR: anyone have a spare bleeder screw for an external slave cylinder? They don't come with replacement slave cylinders and aren't available for purchase separately. Mine is FUBAR and I couldn't find anything that looked like it would work at the hardware store.

You can't just use the CPS from the 93?

The CPS that is in there right now is not coming out any time soon unless I swap the bellhousing. I already broke one bolt to the CPS off and the other isn't moving.

In the long run I will be dropping the trans again, swapping on my spare bellhousing (or drilling out the CPS bolt hole), and installing the CPS from the '93 but that's not an option right now. I wanted to get this done tonight and won't have time to drop the trans, swap shit over, and re-install the trans.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damn Bill you went through a lot of trouble

Yes that's exactly what mine do in the second picture.

I know your picture isn't drawn to scale, but even the angle in the first one is way too steep. That's why I was saying your slots would have to be like no more than 1" below your shoulders in order to be ok or else you're pulling down on your shoulders.

I stole this from Angel's facebook since it was the first place I found a halfway decent picture.

If the straps are at a good angle on her, how do they NOT do what you drew in the second picture for you...? I've never stared at your harness after you got yourself buckled in (I've never given harness mounting much thought until now ) but it just doesn't seem like what you're saying is possible.

And like I said I specifically remember the harness pulling down on me when I tightened the shoulder belts.

How the heck does living in the city have anything to do with parking Jeeps? I said I would rather live in new york, not store my Jeeps in NY. These two do not need to be related.

I don't know, I guess we could go back and forth with this for days. We need someone else to chime in here...
You do make a point about the pulling down vs back thing. Worse comes to worse I'll pull mine out of my seats and go around my headrest.
I'll jump in the seat tonight and have someone take a picture with me strapped in. It's kinda hard to strap in and them look behind you.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ok, I think i might be able to make this work with the help of some JB weld.

Dumb question... which way does the external slave go on? Does the bleeder valve face up or down?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Upstate ny sucks a fat dick, lived there for a summer and you couldn't pay me enough to go back absolutly nothing to do

pretty much. upstate is like the country... but its just.. weird. its cool to go there and get away from everything but i wouldnt want to live there.

What happened to moving to the west like you've been talking about?

ya read my post? i want to. but moving that far away from home isnt an option (yet).

i really enjoy the city. if i had the clams, id have a place there and a house somewhere else. if i needed to work in NYC, id live in BK.. the apartments available there are INSANE and for so cheap bc the market exploded last year and the prices are ridic cheap compared to last year. 4-5 BR BRAND NEW apartments with SS applicances, granite, all new wood floors, new HVAC... are like 1600/month. a 1/2 BR is $1000. you can also get gigantic spaces in old warehouses for a good price. the whole 'open floor plan' thing is really cool.

Aren't you always complaining about not being able to work on the jeeps much because they are hours away on the Cape? I foresee this being even more of an issue living in NY and not having your jeeps very nearby.

Why? because that is what I am doing right now. It SUCKS.

Also, that picture of the frozen lake that you spent 45 minutes just chilling at? Good freakin' luck finding anywhere like that near the city that isn't six or seven figures to buy, or a few grand a month to rent. You can find places like that in upstate NY or most of the rest of new england for cheap.

up. Otherwise the air would stay at the top and all the fluid would come out when you tried to bleed it...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$0.01, sure, but mine cost more initially.

Let me know when you want to pick them up. ;)

if there was less side bolstering I'd say let's start the reverse bidding between you twos :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In all seriousness, I'm not going lower than $450 and if no one here wants them I'll list them on NEOW/Pirate once I figure out what I need to do in terms of new seats.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think that's a fair price... They're the apex seats iirc?
