THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It was so hot, it was smoking.:D

Literally, it was smoking. Burnt my finger on it too.
sounds hot enough to vulcanize, shoulda just stuffed some rtv or plugs in it and run it!

just keep stuffing plugs in the shitty sidewalls

Don't trim them off either. Plugs hanging out = sidewall traction

Toyo MT's > Cooper STT

Damn, too bad the 37" Toyo is 14.5" wide with a 15" rim.

this is the block that holds the caliper in that all the remanufactured calipers come with.

is it worth 450 bucks tho? its almost 100 bucks a tire difference.
I don't know, I've never actually run the STT's.

I have always liked my Toyos, that is why I never stepped up to 35's because I liked their performance and looks. You witnessed them in the snow chickenfest and saw them at Rausch.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm guessing it has worked for years in the past and will continue working now :dunno:

And I just got confirmation that the VP/CTO have a 3:30 flight back to CA so my boss will be out of here by 2 or 2:30 probably. I'll be able to sneak out at 3:30-4. XXXX yeah.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the full hole seem like a WAY better idea than a silly semicircle. that block still freak me out.

i just want to make sure im not dumb and overlooking something. but i dont think i have anything to worry about

i XXXXed up the old blocks getting them out, they were in there pretty damn good

i've seen STTs perform on a few rigs too, and they did well. justin (forgot his last name) runs 35" radial STTs on his CJ5 in rcrocs and cleans house. i still have some time before i decide.

my reman ford calipers came with the same semi-circle ones. just make sure you put the bolt in there, it makes for a fun ride when you dont.

If you don't have much money to blow on tires, just find the cheapest used set you can to get you by.

Nothing worse than having a sweet finished jeep and no tires.

I loved my 35" MTZs, and they make them in a 37x12.50x17 (similar in price to the Toyos). I don't have any experience with the Coopers. Mark's Toyos seemed pretty good. I never even blew a hole in an MTZ, and had plenty of occurances where I thought I should have. I always ran them at 8-10 with no beadlocks.

its basically a toss up between the MTZ, STT, and Toyo at this point. i have the money for 5 brandy new ones, but if one tire is just as good, and i can save 400 bucks, why not? the STTs seem the weakest of them all.. when it comes to pure strength of a tire, weight usually is a good showing if theres nothing else to back it up.

guess i kind of answered my own question there?

and i just need to find a set of some 8 lug alloys for ~$300 bucks

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

whatever you do, don't run 16's and get creepy crawlers, that would make too much sense, you would have too much traction, and you would be too awesome for us.
