I did that with my altima once but I don't think I fully let the clutch out in 2nd so I was able to catch it before revving beyond 5k RPMs. It never gave me any trouble in the 30-40k miles after and everything seemed fine so I guessed i was ok. then I sold the car so best of luck to the new owner.

Also wondering where collets go on a lathe.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but in your and Mark's making fun of Colin for not knowing where a collet goes, you can in fact buy lathe collets.

Either way, where's my Carmelo sucks thread? I didn't even get to see it! Did anyone say something funny? I doubt it.

Wtf, this place sucks. Getting moved again.

When I started here we were on the 3rd floor. Few months later we got moved about 10m away from where I started but stayed on the 3rd floor. 6-8 months later we got moved up to the 4th floor (near sales people I guess?). Another 6-8 months later we got moved to the 2nd floor closer to the engineering teams we support. Now we just got news that we are being moved again but no one knows where we are going except that "it's probably somewhere on the 3rd floor". :banghead:

With modern cars with decently strong synchros double shifting isn't really necessary for normal shifts. It's not a bad practice if you are dropping down a couple gears at once but for normal shifts (e.g. 2->3 upshifts or 4->3 downshifts) with minimal rev change it's not really required.

yea you dont need to. i never do in the vw, had to at time with the subie if i was dropping from 4th to 2nd.. but that gearbox had a lot of hard miles on it.

start teaching yourself to heel toe downshift. google it.

Ya, I see how that reads like two continuous lines. I know I don't need to double shift. Saying I am probably driving stick wrong was a separate thought, thus on a different line. I was just throwing it out there that I'm probably doing it wrong.

I've heard of heel toe before, i'll look into it, not necessary for driving around at the moment.

I used to work for Honda...actually instructed quite a few people on driving their stick shifts. Especially one dumbass who took an S2000 from 5th to 2nd instead of 4th, and put some important engine components through the hood.

i guess he held it there for a while? lol. those engines like to rev. the first week i had my subie i went from 5th to second at about 65 and locked up all four tires even though i slammed the clutch down after i realized it and the car was in gear for like .05 seconds

I may or may not have pulled onto the highway in a brand new WRX with less than 100 miles on it and shifted into 2nd instead of upshifting to 4th :eyes:

Certain lathes can use a collet to hold materials, this is true. I've used some before, they can be very nice and handy if you're using materials that match a collet size.

Colin was saying collets and cutters, you don't use a collet to hold cutting tools on lathe like you do on a mill.

If you think about it. Aside from needing to be shot to shit to kill them zombies are less impressive than regular human beings. They're dumber and slower than regular human beings. They don't even have super strength. So, an average human can take on a zombie quite easily, especially since zombies are too stupid to use even simple weapons.

Now if you think about it there's already some humans that are very similar to zombies but lack the lust for blood. People with mental retardation. There's dumber and slower, same as zombies. BUT GET THIS, they have super strength. SO, when the zombie apocalypse rolls in we don't have to have tank attacks and machines guns to take these guys on. We just have to bust out all our tards and let them duke it out. If a zombie bites a retard though I have got no XXXXing clue what will happen. In all my research I have never heard of a retarded zombie.

This girl im seeing takes care of some and when they get mad there really is not much you can do to stop them. Its pretty crazy. She only works with a girl in a wheel chair. So the challenged one is easy to duck.
