Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How much do you guys think seats would cost to ship? I really don't want stock seats but I really can't justify the price of new suspension seats. I can however deal with a used set of beard's or prp's for like $200-400.

I'd really like to know how you plan on fitting your transfer case, suspension seats, and your big self inside an XJ.

Do a little homework before pulling the trigger on that one.

On a side note, I'm 90% sure the noise on my truck is the turbo puking its guts down the tailpipe. Give me (reasonable) suggestions on what to do about this. OEM replacement is around $1500 rebuilt so use that as a basis. I don't want to make it badass but if the same amount of money will get better aftermarket parts, that's fine.

I looked into it a while back, and it was ridiculously expensive. I Still have My EMPI seats if your interested

10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag. I can almost fit the stock seats, but the newer style ones sit me up too high. My head just barely touches the ceiling. I want something lower and comfy. I can make it fit around the floor mods.

What are these seats you speak of? Pics?

No. Bigger turbo means more fuel means injectors and an air dog and you'll need more air so intake manifold. And an exhaust. Oh you'll need a chip too. OK so that's 850 ft/lbs and 50lbs of boost bye bye head studs.

??? What Jeepspeed???

troll.

If I had it, I would be out driving it. I can't wait until Saturday morning.

At which point I'll be driving my Honda, and you still won't be driving Jeepspeed. (Let alone black Jeep period...)

troll.

If I were him I would just clock the transfer case back down. He already mentioned he's going to have issues with his front driveshaft.

Just angle the bellypan or whatever you end up with down a bit as it hits the center so it's still one big smooth piece.

Car-part? I looked quick in your area and it looks like there are some used take offs for half that price.

Seems like you can get a "professionally rebuilt" stock turbo for 1/3-1/2 that price as well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The first time was an actual question. I really am curious to understand what Jeepspeed.
The second one, not trolling if its true.

I'm just baffled why Ross all of a sudden thinks he is Jeepspeed.

I am convinced more and more that we are surrounded by a bunch of retards who have drivers licenses.

This happened on the way to work.

What you can't see is there was a car in front of this guy, stopped blocking the tracks. The train actually had to stop, the conductor had to stick his head out the door and start waving at him to get him to move since he was blocking the tracks. Why anyone thinks it is smart to stop on tracks, when there is a train coming, when there is a sign that says "Do not stop on tracks" (which isn't needed since its common effing sense), and when there is no gate stopping you from just continuing on so you don't have to wait for the train to go by, is beyond me.

I don't think he thinks he IS Jeepspeed. I think he just wants to overbuild it for effing around and is taking ideas from Jeepspeed guys.

I agree with you though, I think he's wasting his time, but whatever it's HIS time not mine.

I don't actually think he's going to race Line Mtn though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I want to race line mountain. But with all the money I'm spending on the duramax my Jeep will likely go another season without a cage

...and you think suspension seats are gonna be easier to fit? What are you gonna do, hack all the suspension out of 'em?

There was no way in XXXX I could fit suspension seats in mine. Colin did it, but with a tiny transfer case.

...so your suggestion is?

Not that it matters, but I'll probably be doing exhaust at the same time, as I've needed to do it for a while anyway.

But I saw a guy in KOH running offset u-joints, so they must be fine!

With the exception of three people in this thread, besides myself, I have to laugh at how badly you guys misunderstand what goes on at Line Mountain. You really just have to see it. An XJ on 1-tons offers no advantage whatsoever in that race...actually, it's probably just about the worst combination of stuff you could want to run there. Big full station wagon body, wide axles, poor weight distribution...stock beater XJ's regularly do better there honestly.

Forget wheeling on fun challenging things, or protecting myself in case things go wrong, and XXXX unibody longevity...at least it'll get to the trail faster than anyone else!

:dunce: Depending on tax returns I might buy tube. Who knows though. I'm just sayin', if it doesn't happen I won't be surprised...This year I'm setting my cage expectations low so I can't dissapoint myself. If it does happen, BONUS

Yup, my D20 is TINY compared to the NP205 I just bought.

And my NP205 is DWARFED by a friggin STAK.

To me it looked like beater CJs with big V8s were having the best luck.

I don't plan on winning or even being insanely competitive. I'm just doing it for fun. Hence why I haven't purchased air bumps or fancy bumps, linked the rear, or invested in non "off the shelf" shocks. I just want to get into it a bit. If I love it or something, maybe I'll try to make it better, who knows. But for now, I just want to try it.

Number 2 is the biggest reason for me.
