x4, and this is now week 2 in a row that I got less than 3 hours sleep on Monday night

I've been looking for one of those for far too long now but every time I go to a JY all the V8s have the driveshafts pulled already so I just keep putting it off. Hopefully the yard I'm going to next week has one (or two) that I can pull. If you don't find one by then I'll keep an eye out for ya if you want...

I'm going to look at the junk yard by my work, they usually have a few ZJ's in the yard. And they list drive shafts for $30 I'll see if I can grab two there if you'd like.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i wheeled both the j-10 and cherokee on sunday.

the j10 is a hillclimb beast until it gets too steep and doesnt want to run. just idles up everything like a boss.

and my cherokee got beat to shit. my rain gutters on each side are about 3" more towards the middle of the rig.

That would be sweet, esp since I think the yard I was going to check down here wanted damn near double that price for a DS the last time I asked.

I'm very glad my buddy got a Jeep and is excited to work on it. I now have someone to A) motivate me to get my shit done and B) to give me a hand with my projects since my other buddies never seem to have time/desire to work on cars after work.

Ross, you do still have enough 2x5 or 2x6 left over to make a crossmember that you might want to sell?

Gearing + V8 = awesome. How steep before it died out? I know doing TBI is going to be last on my list. If I can get a shakedown in before doing that I might go for it.

Not surprised . You need at least a protective cage for the front two seats before that thing literally folds in on itself.

who needs boatsides, just hammer all the metal inward with rocks and trees.

I guess you need to be going faster at the bottom of hills so you can just fly entirely up them with momentum :gee:

the picture was taken at the top of the hill. nothing intense. it sucks to wheel with. was at 30 psi in the tires

she kept stalling close to the top, and i lost the vacuum brakes and that truck can barely stop as it is lol. almost ended up in the lake a couple times lol

aside from the stalling. she kicked the dick out of my buddies locked silverado and buddies locked/locked xj.

I bought a brand new cast iron adapter housing off ebay for $125 for the NV4500. Normally they are twice that.

Also going to call a guy about an NP205 for $150 in CT. Hopefully that works out. I'll probably buy the doubler kit next Thursday since I have to pay for the machine work this week on the 440.

thats the plan now. i want an interior cage. and i want to smash the outer panels against trees and rocks to conform to the cage.

i actually dented my roof and hood too.

sweet. let's shoot it. I gotta get my license...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nah, my uncle mixed up and thought he had a .030 block sitting on the shelf all machined along with a useable crank.

Only has .060 blocks with .030 forged pistons. I could do a free cast piston setup and only pay for a cut crank ($200) but he wouldn't trust it over 5500 rpm beating on it constantly.

So I'll be paying $1000 all said and done after head work, crank cutting, and block machining. All the hard parts are free. Building an engine is extremely expensive and all the little things add up. All the little things are free for me (ARP rod bolts, gasket sets, main/rod bearings, moly rings, stainless valves, springs/retainers, etc.) since he has a stash of them.

Nutella would fill in that other .030" and you could have used the free forged pistons in the free .060" over block. Duh!
