THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That stems from a time in my life where I spent a week seriously considering selling my XJ to fund repairs needed to continue DD'ing my Corvette. Woulda been '02-'03.

Previous owner had failed to loctite the ring gear bolts, and one fell out and chewed up some gear teeth. That was beyond my ability to fix at the time, so I started driving the XJ again while the 'vette sat and I debated what the next move would be.

Then some guy offered me exactly what I had in it to buy it that afternoon, cash in hand, as-is.

That's de tale...the rest is just details. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You already own a Mustang, and my screen name is vetteboy. Never the twain shall meet.

It's a bitter enough pill to swallow knowing that the motor for my next rig says Ford on it, but at least it's Yamaha-sourced.
That is a sweet engine.

And I'm not a ford or chevy fanboy either way, I compare the vehicles and decide what looks better, performs better, etc. If we were talking Mustang vs Camaro back in '02 (or discussing '02 models of the cars now) I would take the Camaro in a heartbeat. Comparing the new camaro and the new mustang I'd take the mustang any day of the week.

Though I'm not a fan of the rear end of the new 2010+ mustangs... I want the Coyote 5.0 engine in my '05 mustang with a Tremek transmission. That would be sweet...

oh ma gawd! premium gas!!! a whole extra 2 dollars per fill up!!!

Exactly what I said when I was deciding between running the 87 and 93 octane tunes on my car. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's almost enough to buy a small cheese pizza at Stelios on a Mon/Tues.

That is enough to buy 2 small cheese pizzas at Emmas on Wednesday nights.

Speaking of which tomorrow is wednesday and I'm not working the next day... gotta find someone to drive me to Emmas for beers and pizzas.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wish I was making a ton of money.

I would totally DD a new challenger.

I considered it, but was disappointed when the dealer said to get a manual transmission I would have to get an RT, which base with no features was $30K.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

 new car talk

I don't own vehicles whose model year starts with a 2. If I never have to own anything OBDII (or live in a state where it doesn't matter) id be very content.

Id daily drive my nova in the summer if I could. So what if it gets like 6mpg?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd do a Lone Star Classics cobra replica kit car before buying anything like that ever again.

$20k for the kit plus engine, rear diff, wheels/tires, and paint. Everything completely brand new for less than a base-model modern 'muscle car'. I'd do an LS motor and 6-speed double-overdrive manual. Hellz yeah to 11-second 1/4s and 30+ MPG highway.

Obviously it's not as 'practical' as a V6 camaro or mustang. That's why I have a truck. Strip the bullshit and put all the $$ towards performance, and park it on shitty days when I wouldn't want to drive any halfway-to-performance 'car' anyway.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pretty sure it's a requirement that you have balls when you apply for a challenger.

then of course mark would say its dumb if he cant pass the preliminary requirements.

whats he gonna do if he gets turned down because of that "so guys i didnt buy the challenger, the dealership said no once they checked me for my balls"

if i didnt have balls i wouldnt want to have to post that in here

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What the hell other features would you want???

The feature that isn't $30k...

I stopped by and talked with the people about them. But I want manual.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I usually just stand on my dick like a skateboard and bust a nut. Gets me going around 300mph and I can get to boston on one nut. Economical and fast..

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

every 4.0 swap ive done starts quicker than the old motor.

no idea why. i figured it would take time for the fuel to get up there but nope lol
I'm more talking about me being zonked out and plugging injectors in wrong or the dizzy 180 degrees out or something.

I'm gonna say that once you build links, unless you build them out of PVC, you probably won't need to carry spares for them anymore.
is that a bet?

I actually have only destroyed two stock UCAs and a stock LCA, and I drove on the LCA for another few months, it was just kinked a bit at the top. But I really suspect I'm going to bend a link eventually especially with longer links.

In my very cold ride to work today, I was wondering if I should just pull the drive train from Rob's Jeep, throw the drivetrain from mine or Bill's into it, and drive that thru the winter. Or still go with a new car. One option requires a lot of money, one requires a lot of time and work.

Thinking about the new Subaru Impreza.

stuff the drivetrain from Bill's in Rob's and drive it. Hell, bring it to my place and I'll swap the interior for you while you swap the motor.

most logical vehicle for any of US is a stock xj. we all know how to fix them quickly and we all can get any part we want for less than $200.
seriously.

So FOA did infact burn to the ground!
:( that blows.

There are only 3 vehicles I would actually buy right now. A clean M715, a clean J2000, or a clean longbed MJ. Hell with new cars, I might pirate parts off them but if I need a "new" car I have no intention of buying one prebuilt.

What the hell other features would you want???

read my mind...

and the tampon dispenser is only available on automatic models

I'd be willing to bet you'll NEVER break one depending on what you build it out of.
