on the knuckles? like that kid has them and everybody is tellin him he dont need them there?

you dont need a shit ton of travel there if its just tie rod to tie rod. they need to move like .8 degrees to compensate for knuckle misalignement when turning, nothing else.

granted i dont run a shit ton of travel and consider 10" is enough for any of us tards but a regular tie rod end at my pitman arm works just fine

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My tierod has no misalignment no spacers, just 3/4 bolts. My draglink has high misalignments and even at full droop on the straps on the 12" travel 7100's, I could still have another couplle inches more down travel before the draglink starts to bind.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

but 16" shocks with 2" uptravel is so BA

insanely stiff 16s with rubber bumpers for springs. as long as the shocks have time to fully extend during the skydrive the landing will be mint!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just XXXXing love it when my boss fails to copy me on some internal discussions regarding a problem, and then fails to copy me on the email to the customer explaining where we have got on the problem... and then the customer brings it up during my weekly update call and asks questions but clearly I don't know shit about the subject because I haven't seen any of the emails in the first place:flamemad:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Can I add that my boss then decided to ask me to facilitate the discussion with our team, ensure that we get appropriate responses, and coordinate the response to the customer before the end of the day today... while still never providing the necessary information so I still had no clue what the XXXX was going on? I had to get from our other guy out of Ireland (who happened to be copied on the email chain).

So much for a lunch break.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In my very cold ride to work today, I was wondering if I should just pull the drive train from Rob's Jeep, throw the drivetrain from mine or Bill's into it, and drive that thru the winter. Or still go with a new car. One option requires a lot of money, one requires a lot of time and work.

Thinking about the new Subaru Impreza.

Go newish used. Only having it for a few hours and driving it the 1.5hrs home; I'm very happy with the Ford Fusion I just got for Angel. AWD & V6. It moves pretty good and handles well. Myself driving I averaged 27.8mpg on the way home. Angel just called and she reset it and has been tooling around town today in it for registration/inspection/etc and she's getting 25.4mpg. I'll take that. Especially since I paid just under half what the car would be new and its only got 42k on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ya, and they get great gas mileage and have lots of cargo room for a car.

I would love performance, but it comes at a cost. Still haven't ruled out performance, but that is a logical choice in a car.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

most logical vehicle for any of US is a stock xj. we all know how to fix them quickly and we all can get any part we want for less than $200.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

25-28mpg isn't good mileage? You can get good mpg, much lower cost than new, and "performance".

Until the woman vetos driving her 3rd.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ya, I was actually more impressed with the Kia Optima than I was with the Ford Fusion. But, I did see a used 2011 fusion manual transmission with 4K miles on it for a couple grand under brand new at a used car dealership.

But, the impreza would only be the 2012 model, looks better, and gets better gas mileage. Actually, a few of the cars I've been looking at I would only consider the new models, because I didn't like the older ones.

I test drove a 2009 Civic SI with 45K miles on it. Found another 2009 with 15K on it for the same price. For 2K more I could get a brand new 2012 Civic SI, so that is a no brainier.
