THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I never realized they have weld it yourself header kits for 440s.

Awesome.

I'm guessing I'm gonna have to wrap the driver's side downpipe around the front of the oil pan and connect at the passenger side with a Y.

XXXX I can't wait to get started on this.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So uh...is there ANY way in hell I could use my current front radiator for a 440?

My buddy says there's a chance if I use a mechnical fan (no clutch), build a shroud, high flow water pump, and keep the compression down (9.5:1).

I've seen some insanely priced aluminum radiators that would fit ($600-800), but at that point I'd just do rear mount and eliminate any possibility of overheating.

Nope. Rear mount.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also, I looked up the specs on a stock radiator for a 440 Ramcharger.

Stock is 3 row, 5 inches narrower, but 7 inches taller and 1 7/8" core (no idea how thick mine is per core).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The stock radiator barely cools a motor with just over half the cubic inches of the one you're gonna use.

Are you out of your XXXXing mind?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Any awesome ideas on coolant plumbing?

I would hate to run it inside the cab but I have a feeling I don't have room anywhere else unless I modify the floor (which I'm not opposed to).

I could build a box above the passenger side rocker supports (removeable) and have them suspended from there?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think you should worry about getting the 44 IN there and running before you need to keep it cool

That's a horrible idea.

If there's anything I've learned...cooling, exhaust, all that shit that everyone saves for the end of a build?

Do it first. At least plan it and know what you're getting into. That 440 is useless if it doesn't stay cool.

I'm putting a 440 in an MJ.

Of course I'm out of my XXXXing mind.

There's a good way and a bad way to be out of your XXXXing mind.

I didn't mean the good way.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And I already read the rear mount radiator TOTM on Pirate.

No one shows any pics of plumbing.

I think I can do what I said though and just modify the floor on the passenger side.

I'd probably take a radiator my father has laying around from a New Yorker (what he runs in his Hemi) and stuff a bunch of fans on it.
