THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, was he the guy who sent you (and I) threats via PM? I can't remember who that was

edit: nvm, I just saw greatwhite's location so I don't think it was him... I just know I remember his user name from something but don't know why. :dunno:

I use my truck to tow my MJ, and pick up/move parts and random things around (buying large items, engine hoists, stands, engines, axles, etc.). Everyone else in this thread would be fine with a half ton, we all bought 3/4 tons because we WANTED to. I'm no exception. I could have bought a 1/2 ton 03+ Dodge and been 100% fine, but I also don't see the big deal about slowing down on hills (to a point).

Mark, just buy a car if that's what you want. I would have absolutely no problem DDing a car. Using the excuse that you like to "sit high" in the vehicle or whatever is just dick measuring, there's no reason for it. Bill, wouldn't you DD a GTO if it wasn't going to rust away in the winter? Don't even TRY to tell me you wouldn't.
I think I proved a 1/2ton won't work for me. Not the towing side of it but I can't tell you how many times I had that truck ridding on it's bumpstops without anything on the hitch. YOU could have gotten away with a 1/2ton, I surely couldn't and I got by, but it wasn't going to last much longer.

Of course I would! BUT a stock GTO sits about the height (not to more) than the stock Legacy. The Impreza/WRX is much lower to the ground. I can't stand stepping up out of a car, I'm a tall dude.
weve already learned that 1/2 ton trannmissions do not aprove towing 1 ton cherokees
Haha, only if you try to keep up with the diesels. Otherwise, they are ok.
Speak for yourself, bucko.
I think that sums it up.
Some asshat hit my race car!!! He was driving a Civic, riced up with stupid rims and dumb exhaust. His driver's front wheel hit my driver's front wheel and he slid all the way down my car. Needs a hood, door, fender, bumper, headlamp, etc. My guess is that it's totalled.

Dude sheared 2 of my studs off!
Bummer.
Don't except the first or second numbers from insurance and keep telling them you want more. Turn in every receipt you've got.
I didn't even speak to him. Barely spoke english. Friggin asshat.
Is he legal to be here? Hopefully he has insurance.

I'm surprised you can still be technically "illegal" in this state.

But seriously, you raise a good point.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

He has insurance. I've already filed a claim. I'm gonna call my adjusters @ 10.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good. Did he get any citations at the scene?

No idea. I spoke with the police though and they were like "Okay, so he's 100% at fault." He crossed the yellow line, so it should be pretty cut and dry.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam, did the rrace car just get body damage, other then the sheered lugs? Just slap some 200mph tape on it and call it good to go!

Will youu give me a hand after work too carrying the assembled 14b outta the shop and under the jeep?

It's got some suspension damage.

If the insurance company delays i'm going to work on my Jeep for a little while. at least clean and seam seal the box and work with the wiring. then I can paint and install the interior tomorrow.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Man, it's a good thing you got that economical DD to drive around so you wouldn't have to worry about driving the jeep everywhere!

Oh wait.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i love getting in accidents with my jeep.

i totalled 2 cars so far and drove home without issue.

both times i was not at fault

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Check this out.

Dakotas have a np231 and the same type of front driveshaft as an XJ. Except they have a larger slip shaft thing and slip joint. Looks like a 1310 U joint at the axle end to once you take off the flange that's on it. It's short but if you're making a 1/4" driveshaft like me and Colin it doesn't matter.
I'm gonna have to look into that, thanks a ton.

that blows. At least it looks like he'll be completely at fault.

I think my favorite accident story from you is the 'holy hell, you have a spare that size in there? well, have a good day' one. :laugh2:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got off the phone with the dude's insurance company. Without looking at it they said the car is pretty much totalled. Time to look for a new car! Maybe i'll spend $3,000 this time...
