So my cell still doesn't have decent service at work, and I had sub-par service at home last night. Wth.
And I used to know pretty much my entire engineering class (I knew all EEs, CPEs, and BMEs, and knew most of the MEs from my graduating class). I also knew a number of folks outside of my class as well, but they were mostly EEs/CPEs with a few BMEs and MEs thrown in.
Anyway, so a guy I knew from my school is now working at the same facility as I am. He was a year or two behind me so I don't know him well; I just know that he was an ME and I saw him around the labs and we shot the shit once in a while. Now, a few years later, I ran into him here at work and now we shoot the shit all the time but I can't for the life of me remember his name and don't feel like asking for it.
I walked past him in his cube on the way into the office today and saw his name tag... His name is Nazil (or Nahzil, or some similar spelling to that). :doh: That's not going to help if I ever need to know his name.

Your transmission feels 1000x grosser than mine with a slipping clutch.
I'm tempted to just get a stock replacement since it's so cheap, it will also keep me from dumping money into tuners and stuff.

I don't understand that mentality. Sure automatics are "faster" or whatever for racing, but I just don't give a XXXX.
I like rowing gears everyday and I drive twice as much as the average person.
You're dumb. Strength comparison between them is moot since both can be built strong.

i dont like driving stick in a diesel truck.. its not fun for me. any other day i'd prefer a stick (except in my XJ, AW4 ftw for the trail). the built autos behind my friends' cummins and dmaxs shift faster and harder.
i plan on getting a DD in a few months, some beater mpg machine.. it will no doubt be a stick.

Here's my argument for driving stick. Get in a stick shift vehicle. Now put your right hand behind your back and sit on your left leg. Then drive to work. It's a XXXXing extreme sport. Try having that much of a crazy time with an automatic. I don't think so.

And I'd rather drive a stick than an auto... even though I end up driving to Manhattan weekly now. Honestly it's just more fun. That image someone posted a few dozen pages back comparing "how I feel driving an automatic" to "how I feel driving a manual" is spot on.

If you plan on upgrading in the near future (aka before you will need to replace the clutch again) then go with the better clutch. When the Mustang needs a clutch I'm probably going with an upgraded unit but that's only because I will, eventually, be throwing some power adders on there. I should still have easily another 40k-50k+ miles before needing a clutch so that's neither here nor now and plans may change over time... but just sayin'
x2 And you could go through two stock clutches before you reached the price of one aftermarket. If you don't need more than an OEM clutch I would say to just get the cheaper stock replacement.
