Hey so I have a small woodworking project to tackle. Some night after work next week? I'll bring the beer.

Thanks. I never made the false floor for my VW's system. I have a plan of what I want to do, but no wood or tools to make it. Do you have about a half sheet of 1/2" ply that you can spare? I can pay for it too. Not lookin for a handout...

Yes he does, but it is at home depot, so you have to stop by there and pick it up first...

I saw a guy in a corolla with a 5 by 3 foot piece of cement board on his roof sitting on a single beach towel with one piece of rope across the middle holding it down... he was doing 40mph down rt20 in auburn with it flapping like crazy till it broke in half and threw chunks of cement everywhere. I felt bad for his sheetmetal and paint job.

I think the best "something falling off a vehicle" experience I had was watching a large (probably 1.5' or 2' square by 8-10' long) piece of high density foam fly off a truck on the highway... then a pickup truck (mid-late 90s chevy 1500 IIRC) hit the foam at probably 70mph give or take 5mph. Truck launched into the air in an explosion of foam bits. The chevy was just in front and to the right of me (he was probably 0.5-1 car length ahead of me in the center lane, I was in the left lane).

Once he hit ground and gained control of the truck he took off and chased the guy with the foam pieces down and they eventually both pulled over. Truck seemed to take that hit like a champ.

I saw a 5 gallon pail, a small ladder, and a spade fall off a ratty ass work truck and bounce off the hood and windshield of a state police cruiser a few years back. The guy got pulled over for some odd reason :dunno:

You know how people carry bikes on their roof racks from time to time? I saw two bikes go flying off the top of a car where route 3 hits 93. It was awesome, because he wsa in the middle lane, and the bikes just went bouncing down the road.

I've had a fender flare go flying off before, and look in my side mirror and just see the suv behind me start swerving and skidding.

The only time I have had shit thrown at my car was when my buddy decided to launch from a stop sign in his miata and spun the tires a bit. Little did he know he was on to of some piece of mangled metal that got launched up and slid up the hood of my car (the altima) which was up for sale at the time. I was pretty pissed but luckily some asian guy bought that car w/o even seeing it first :dunno:

Today was a pretty productive day so far. Now it looks like I will only have 1 day worth of work to do over the weekend... but I have a strange feeling I will be spending most of my weekend working with all the shit that has to get done around here before the end of the month. :banghead:

Pissed me off when my boss decided to give me shit about working from home on Monday afternoon after I go to the RMV to apply for my hardship license... sorry I don't want to drive 45 minutes to do 3 hours of work and then drive 45 minutes home. I have tons of shit on my plate and could probably rationalize spending 2 days working from home with all the stuff that has been thrown over the wall to me recently (instead I'll just work over the weekend). He works from home at least once per week. Would think he could give me a XXXXing break.

Oh well, out of here in an hour to go to my 24D "first offender" OUI program intake session thing. Was told the next intake program wasn't until the 30th but I talked the guy into letting me do the program today instead so I can get the hardship license sooner than later. Really hoping the hearings officer(s) approve my hardship, if not my life could start sucking a lot more pretty soon.
