THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got raped hard today by Massachusetts, in this case literally Taxachusetts, when I payed for the title and tax on Rob's old Jeep. The tax didn't go by what I bought it by, but what they valued a cherokee by out of some book, which was almost 3 times as much as I payed.

Sounds like you PAID out the arse.

That's been the case for awhile now. It's always some crazy value like $500 more than KBB's price for a vehicle in perfect condition. My comanche was valued at something stupid like $3000.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

when i got the jeep last year i only paid like 170ish for reg and new title i dont recall what the taxes n shit were

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark, out of curiosity did you register it to? I'm wondering how much you paid in total if you switched plates onto it. I'll be doing that soon.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nope, just title and tax. That alone was $230. I'm not going to be touching it for a while so I figured I didn't need 3 Jeeps on the road.

Somebody tried telling me that the other day and I told them they were a dumbass, I know MA goes off the book value and not the actual sale price (unless its bought from a dealer or somebody with a car selling license thingy).

A loophole I can take to my advantage, nice. Looks like i'll be registering a cheap ass car this week.

switching to what??

2000 Isuzu Rodeo

I thought it was the gayest thing on 4 wheels until I drove it. V6, 5 speed and 4WD. It's definitely faster than my comanche and hits 6k+ rpms easy. 128,000 miles and I'm getting it for what my dad paid. Has a power steering leak, loose wheel bearing and a bad ball joint. The power steering is the low pressure hose so it just needs a hose i'll take off another junk car. The bearing is just a tapered bearing to i'll just tighten the spindle nut. The ball joint is $20 and 3 bolts. Tires up front are bad but those are free for me too and it has a good inspection sticker already to boot.

Should take one day to fix and now I have everything for my Honcho to be put back together so focus can go back on getting it ready for fall crawl.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sweet find on the Trooper. But newly registered vehicles need to be inspected within 7 days of registration in MA. Whether or not it had a valid inspection sticker before doesnt matter after ownership is transferred
