THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nope, just was a weird thing, must have been due to low battery. Just went out and its not doing it now.

Adam, completely forgot, Ross never reminded me.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My tube clamp from Ballistic that I use for my hydroassist ram started moving in the last race. I had to get out and realign everything. F that, shit's welded now.

What I would do is buy one foot of McMaster #8705K761, cut spacers of the appropriate length, and limit the ram internally.

Just because you're a dick...

My clamps did jack shit. The ram just pushed them right the XXXX out of the way.

Gonna order that stuff soon.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Going in for an interview for some powder coating company. I have no idea how PC but I guess I can learn. Supposed to be 7-330 Monday through Friday. It'll cut a lot of Jeep time out but at least I'll have weekends off.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If today is any indication of how this week is going to go it's going to be a long/busy week.

On a plus side though I got to spend some time messing around on crutchfield and other sites while our drives were rebuilding earlier today.

Priced out what I want for speakers/amps/etc. Can't decide what I want for a head unit but right now it looks like I will be spending about $550 on component speakers. Once I get an aftermarket head unit I will be dropping another $550 on amps for those speakers (powering it off stock shit for the time being).

Then down the road maybe spend some ungodly amount for a good sub/stealth enclosure so I don't lose all my trunk space with a huge box... or try my hand at making a fiberglass stealth enclosure and see if I can't save a large chunk of change.

Figure I might as well spend cash on a decent system since I spend a couple hours per day in the car.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Started feeling sick Friday but went to work anyway. Felt like crap all weekend but didn't let it slow me down. Saturday I detailed my VW and went to Foxwoods to see John Oliver (the British guy from the Daily Show). He was pretty hilarious. Yesterday I finally finished all of the electronics of my soundsystem and made some other improvements to it as well. Today I woke up feeling like crap and called out of work.

I read the posts since Friday and it looks like Sam gets the blue ribbon at maintaining unibody integrity.

stock headunit pushing good speakers will be shitty. do a head unit first.

x2. The front speakers in my VW cost me only $160.

And Scott, don't do it in stages. Just do it once and do it right and you'll save $ in the long run. I had every detail of my system planned before I purchased a single piece. What are you getting for amps? The equipment will only sound as good as the installation meaning that speaker placement is key. So how crazy do you want to go?

If only I could have been as diligent with my project planning on my XJ as my soundsystem.
