when youre a mechanic you can do that. you cant really walk up to office buildings in a suit and ask for an interview.

well, i mean you can i guess..

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

weak.

i was up to that many in one day easy.. for like 2 months straight.

good luck dude.
Ditto. When I got laid off in '09 I spent 40+ hours per week job hunting and applying for jobs... no clue what that added up to. After 2-3 months of that I had become burnt out and just gave up to a degree and spent 2-3 hours per day reviewing new stuff and sending out a few applications before going to do different shit.

haha, agreed. It was also difficult to apply in person since I was applying for jobs anywhere within probably 500 miles, even applying for some jobs across the country.

go figure I'm working for a company out of CA now

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I didn't apply for my current job.

My boss found my resume online and sent me an email that basically said "if you're anything like the way your resume sounds, we want you to work here". Been here over 5 years now.

Before that, I applied all over the place with very little success. Two places wanted to hire me on the spot but had no positions open. WTF, why have interviews then? Thanks for wasting my time.

One of those would have been pretty cool...it was a firm that did accident reconstruction so when cars got all cracked up and people died, they could tell if the safety devices failed or worked properly.

you are dumb for wanting to work in an office

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just a quick question:

MIT researchers have developed a new material with the weight of aluminum and the strength of steel. Any thoughts on potential applications based on this weight/strength ratio?

Thanks
Just got that in an email from on-high. Way to be specific. How much does it cost? Can it be welded? Can it be machined easily? Does it rust or oxidize? What's the Young's Modulus? Poison's ratio?

Must be adamantium.

Anyone look at the doppler for ma/nh?
Huge cell moving through, tornado warnings all over!
http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/USNH0113:1:US

Apparently in Boston there was reported pea sized hail this morning and larger hail up north. Tornado warnings in 8 counties until 8PM; pretty much northern/central MA IIRC. No warnings down on the south shore yet (except possible storm warnings).

When I heard that there was reasonably large hail in some areas I started worrying whether or not my car got dominated by large hail the day after I bought it :laugh3: I'm actually leaving the office in a minute to try and get down towards the south shore ASAP since the storm should be hitting this area pretty soon.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

2 years ago May 24 there was a bad hail storm that swept Southern Worcester County with golf ball sized hail... We were playing kickball and waited till it was on top of us to seek shelter. That stuff hurt.

I'll probably put my car in the garage when I get home just in case.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I heard that roofs were torn off houses and at least one vehicle was flipped in/around springfield. Pulling the motorcycle into the shed, Jeep to the bottom of the driveway, and going to try and find somewhere to put the car but There are def no garages for my car. debating whether I should try and hug the car up against the east side of the house or if I should pull it out back under some trees.

We already had hail down here this morning. According to my father there was some decent (couple cm) size hail at his office in Hanson. My car looks fine so I don't think we got much/any hail in Franklin earlier but who knows.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was at the top of a Lighthouse today for work, was pretty damn windy up there.

Weather was perfect while I was out there though, is now crappy out here in Marlborough.
