THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am slowly learning that there are fewer and fewer reasons for me to come into the office at all for the rest of the week. Boss is in Vegas, most of the team I work with is in training, team is in training tomorrow during the morning when I normally hold my meeting, etc.

Guess I should just head down to the labs and take care of all my on-site stuff, then maybe I will work from home tomorrow. :dunno: I don't feel like wasting time and gas driving in when there is nothing that I have to be on site for and I can just do it all from home.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate horse girls. They're all crazy as shit. I just got bitched out because I spend too much time in my garage with my Jeep. She always makes plans then says "Like ohemgee, I'm wicked sorry, I have to feed/wash/suck off/ ride/train my horse. We'll re-schedule."

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

this makes me not want to run a front 44 anymore

Where did you guys see this picture?

sounds cool. but if moab is the attraction and not vegas, then fly into grand junction CO.

and i am so glad i was able to take my own rig out there and not rent

If we went to vegas I would have to do some gambling. Since I don't know the area, what is the attraction of grand junction? Is it just closer to Moab? Cool mountain passes like I saw your pictures of?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not retarded so I'll be just fine on a 44.

theres some cool trails around there. not so much mountain passes. you need to head south or east of grand junction from that.

but you can travel from grand junction to moab entirely on dirt

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that river crossing took some balls. we both took on water 2000+ miles from home and idk maybe 100 miles from civilization. we were pretty on edge if we wanted to cross it. there was a decent current and we had to walk across first to make sure we wouldnt drive through the deep parts

Having a running/driving SHO parked next to the XJ is not helping me GSD. :laugh:

Since I got pwned on the transfer case yesterday, I'm gonna try to tackle the water pump, shock bumpstop, and front driveshaft today. I ran 5 gallons of fresh water through the cooling system and it's still coming out coal black. Awesome.

4k+ rpm = pure seks on that engine. They sound so cool when the secondary butterfly valves open.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nice there's a bar like that by me. Not all of theirs are on tap though. The list is 40/40. 40 domestics and 40 imports.

Where?

4k+ rpm = pure seks on that engine. They sound so cool when the secondary butterfly valves open.

Yep. This thing will sit on the rev limiter all day long and be bored doing it.

Can't wait to hear what it sounds like minus catalytic converters & mufflers. I want it to sound XXXXing pissed off at WOT.

I'm sorry, but I still think those SHO's are pieces of crap, and look like ass.

Sam, I looked, Grand Junction is also 6 hours closer than vegas. For $225 per day, we could rent an "extreme rubicon" in Moab.

* Lockers, Front and Rear - It's Moab! Never underestimate any trail!
* 35x12:50 Mud terrain Tires
* 4 Inch Suspension Lift
* 5.13 Superior Gears, and Superior
Chrome-Moly Axle Shafts
* Automatic Transmission - for easier backcountry maneuvering
* Air Conditioner - total summer comfort!
* Tube Doors and Trail Protection
* Accommodates 4 People

Or for $40 less,
* Lockers, Front and Rear - It's Moab! Never underestimate any trail!
* 2.5 Inch Suspension lift Incredible clearance.
* Automatic Transmission - for easier backcountry maneuvering
* Air Conditioner - total summer comfort!
* Safari Top/Hard Top
* 32 X 11:50 Mud Terrain Tires - so you can go where other Jeeps can't.
* Accomodates 4 People

There are a few trail restrictions unfortunately, and it says to rent you need to be 25 years old. I don't give a crap what that says, I'm still going to drive it anyway if we go.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how do you break on yellow jacket?

open/open with a 5 speed dumping clutch at high rpms?

35s on a locked LP 30 and a heavy foot.... the guy that had the blue yj on tons last trip blew afront u joint in the same spot..

I ran mine with the catback disconnected once. It's uh... Loud. Beware - it will sound raspy if you make the exhaust too high-flowing.
I'm sorry, but I still think those SHO's are pieces of crap, and look like ass.
The engine is amazing. The rest of the car is meh at best, but was cool for it's time. My 1992 had every option you could think of, including climate control - not just AC.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark, it's roughly $2k to have the jeep shipped to Utah. And with gas prices, probably aboutt he same to drive. I'd rather beat the piss out of someone's Jeep for a week for a family vacation.

With that said, I want to do a road trip in mine like Sam and Adam did. Mainly because I've never left Me, NH, Mass.
