THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:moon:Hey now, I didn't dispute anything there. All I did was suggest he call and look elsewhere for a better deal.

Truth. In real life your a person I'd hang out with. :laugh2:
Eh, I'll give you that. You were still apalled at the going rate of something. Poor choice of words on my part.

It's even happened a couple times recently.

Real racing is crazy. I helped pit for a rally new york race 2 years ago, did about 15ish autox events, and raced the one time w chris.. I knew I was a pretty competent driver going into my first autocross... and I was slow as XXXX. By the next season with real tires and a good amount of seat time, I was blowing the doors off kids in their stock 350zs and stis.

Jot a 99' XJ and an old style OEM swing out rear bumper mount spare tire rack. Can anyone point me to the thread that used to be on here as to how to mod this to fit my XJ ?
Tanks, tm
Yep, no luck on this site engine search. About 2 years ago a member posted pics and details of how to do this mod. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll let everyone get back to their bickering now. Thanks. tm

AutoX is something I want to try so that I can push my car to the limits without fear of hurting anyone or getting tickets. Same thing with the motorcycle track days, except those aren't timed.

If I do well and beat people then that will be icing on the cake.

Cones in parking lots = good times.

That's when the 4.10 gears in my 'vette kicked ass. On the highway in 4th gear, 1:1, 3500 RPM at 60 MPH, not so much.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

EVERYBODY GET JEALOUS!!! I'M GOING TO DINNER WITH COLIN!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How I do not envy you.

I have a a few years racing experience with Baja SAE.

And I hate to say it, because he is the biggest know-it-all I know, but I do kind of agree with Colin. (no Anthony, this is not an attack on you) But two different things may be called a race, you may be competitive and giving it your all, but the contexts and experiences are way different. I wouldn't compare (since the example is on the table) a down hill bike race where you start at the top, and are by yourself, and if your bike breaks your done for the race, with something like autocross or baja (since that is where my experience is). Baja its a team, with one driver, where you have to work for a long time and fabricate a car that will go to competition, and while the race is going on its a team effort to keep the car running. You have to pit correctly, make sure the car is running correct, and bust ass to fix whatever happens so the car can get back in the race.

We had a few people who were on both the bike racing team, and baja team. They thought it was different.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have 0 racing experience and never claimed to have any. Did I run track? Have I run a triathalon with Kate? YES. Do I even REMOTELY consider those "racing experience"? HELL NO.

I've been around my uncle and my father as well as all of their friends for my ENTIRE life that street raced their cars as well as some who used to do bracket racing. I'm talking caged, tubbed, frame reinforced, D60s, blown big blocks, etc. constantly since I could walk/talk.

Do I even consider that second hand racing experience?

BARELY.

I'm not trying to be an asshole here, but making a blanket comment about a motorsports race after having been in even a few mountain bike races is just ignorant.

I know JACK about Line Mtn races or anything and don't claim to know anything. Why do you think I ask Chris so many questions?

Whatever I do I do at the maximum speed. I consider myself a racing expert.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I pitted for a serious ultra 4 racing team. We almost finished a half a lap. I'm sure I'm an expert on racing.
