That's good. I applied for one before my trip to Ireland and they gave me a 5k limit then upped it to 6k. Fawk me.

I filed a claim for my insurance replacement phone last night at around 11:30 or later. I didn't get any emails last night from them, so I was hoping that it actually went through. I have an email showing that it went out for delivery at 8:14am.

I used the insurance all the time.. got me many free phone upgrades too
Had one phone years back that I lost, paid $50 for a replacement and they sent the upgraded model (since mine was no longer in production and warehouses were out of refurbished ones). Same thing happened a year or two later when I broke my 'new' model so I got upgraded again for another $50.
Best part was that I didn't have to upgrade my contract either time so I kept my cheap ass plan from back in 2004.
Now that I upgraded again I had to change to the everything plan (sprint) but only did so after I got a 21% discount from work. That keeps my bill right below $75 (was paying $68 with my old plan) and that price is including the $7 per month insurance.

Oh, ballsy decision dude. My brother actually had his maxed out one time because he went through so many phones (ya, he isn't the smartest sometimes, he needed to learn to take his phone out of his pants when we jumped off the boat to take it to shore).

My reasoning for not doing it is that I have gotten better for keeping my nice things nice. I've had my iPod touch for a year and a half and that's still in really nice shape. I also don't want to pay for it, knowing I'll likely not need it. I've always gotten good service life out of my previous phones, but when they do go it's in a matter of a couple days. I've only had 2 new phones since I was 18. The 3rd one was a temporary fix that I bought used from my friend for $25 and I got 6 months or so out of it.

My several year financial plan:
- finish jeep
- pay off student loans ($10k left)
- save for a house
Don't need to make a plan for those. Buy a house whenever I feel I have a substantial downpayment.
