Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

who makes good front bar pin eliminators I didnt really like the jks style?

I liked the jks style, just not the jks price. I am building my own ghetto ones for 20 bucks or so.

am i the only one in the world who doesn't have a problem with bar pins? i mean i bend them and sometimes break them. but then i just take 2 minutes of my time and replace them for free

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

rough country makes them too, i have the jks in the front and never had a problem, after busting 2 pins i bucked up and paid $30 which wasnt bad

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

most people that have issues with them are people who use thier shocks as bumpstops (and limit straps)

I misread that as swaybar quickdisconnects somehow but:

* I use my shocks as limit straps
* I have absolutely demolished 2 now
* they cost 23 dollars each
* they are bright red :confused1:
* they has lifetime warranty!

If I blow one up, I bring it back to autozone for a free replacement. Shocks for life!

Now on the hunt for a gasser 3/4 ton truck. 4wd preferred. It's for my Dad so it has to be nice and low mileage.

Edit: Talked to him. Pretty sure he'd prefer a Ford or Chevy. Under 100k, no long beds, he'll do a nice half ton with a big v8 and tow package.

The tent is an Alps Mountaineering Extreme 2. A friend of mine has one too. Seems like one of the better tents that can be had for $100. I didn't feel like spending $200...

I still have a whisperlite international as my pack stove, but I plan on picking up a jetboil soon. Its crazy, when the whisperlite came out, it was miles ahead of everything else out there, and now its looked at as a heavy stove.

I need to get a new backpacking tent, possibly something with carbon fiber this time around, and I have yet to find a lightweight sleeping bag that I am comfortable in.

For the last few years, I have been buying cold weather gear. I picked up a discontinued sierra designs 4 season tent a few years ago for a great price, and with my gear, I have always been comfortable in even the coldest of weather.
I haven't really done any real backpacking since I went to philmont in 2002, and looking back on it now, I dont know how I did it then. Without food or water, my pack was 87lbs when I weighed in at base camp, the most that they would let me leave with. Add 2.5 gallons of water, and with having a large pack, a good portion of the crews food, I was probably around 115-120 lbs. I think that with my current winter gear I could easily beat that now.

Depending if/when I hear back from the guy, and on price and if the guy still has it, would you possibly be willing to check out a TJ frame for me?

Its going to have to be a pretty damn good price before I ask you to take a look at it if you ever had any free time to do so.
