THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i first met Billy we had a mabell/gutter trip, then it was Anthony on a OFR trip, he was on 31's other 2 kids were being babies on 33's and didnt want o do OFR just wanted to go muddin so no wheelin for us, then i met Adam Colin Ross and i think Carmelo at the food drive, after that i met the rest of you tards at the M&G
They needed to be spotted over 12" rocks and had winches too. I still haven't run that trail end to end...

Billy first. I wanted to go wheeling and he sent me a pm inviting me to a UJ run at the backyard. Then Travis sold me some parts and I met Bill that same night (that was a long drive...) Sam was still a JF legend trumped only by Vetteboy. Then I met most of the rest of the old UJ crowd that summer. I met Rob that August... Somewhere in there the Raytheon Express happened too. The rest is history.

I met Sam at Bumps house.

He was picking up a header panel or something and was driving the MJ that I now own.

I realized when I got home that he was ktm racer on here.

I felt like I had just met an internet celebrity and didn't realize it.

thats the first time you ever laid eyes on your comanche.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha Raytheon Express. I haven't even seen your Dad in awhile.

I haven't OFR yet. It's like 3 hours from me and never felt motivated to drive all the way up there for one trail.

Maybe this summer I will.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm sorry, but I just find that a little ridiculous. Why do you need to swap the trans, do you really have that much of a hard on that you can't sanely drive an auto?

the autos in those trucks are pieces of shit and unless you spend >$5k on it they'll blow up if you pull anything. So, not ridiculous at all, thanks :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate driving an automatic. I don't feel like I'm in control of the car as well as I could or should be. There have only been a couple times ever in the 8 years I've been driving a manual that my left foot got tired. Really not that bad, considering I've driven into cities a bunch. Not daily, but often enough.

I don't care what transmission is in my Jeep as long as it isn't a blown up BA-10.

On that note, it my turn to say I want to wheel!!

Yuuuuup.

They're awesome when they're built, but stock they suck dick.

I don't really get that feeling.

I just prefer driving stick because it's more fun.

I've never driven an automatic that let me engine brake the way I want to or shift exactly when I want. The VW DSG is the best and most fun 'cheap' (read: available to the middle class consumer as a reasonable DD) manually shifting automatic that I've ever seen, but I still wouldn't want it.

It's way more fun too, don't get me wrong.

if i could dump clutch in an auto i would be happy

Drive something with a 3 speed auto with a manual valve body.

You have to start in 1st at a stop, and it only does whatever you tell it to.

My father's is reverse manual in his challenger. That 727 is a monster.

Hmm, neat. It never shifts like an automatic, only when you move the shifter?

I don't know what you mean by reverse manual.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

When I was DD'ing mine the auto was nice when I had a drink. Because even after buying a cup holder they still didn't hold jack shit.

97+ interior is so much nicer....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I heart no CEL. And mine was too good of a deal to say no to. As much as I love the 97+ int and header panel, I wouldn't buy one unless it was a crazy good deal. OBD2 is such a pita if you when it comes to inspections. And where I don't drive mine every day anymore, I don't fix stuff as soon as they happen like I used to. I'm pretty sure I'm like 2 quarts low and 4k miles over my oil change. So I just don't drive it many places.

Yup, only shifts when you move the shifter. You leave it in D at a stoplight, it will start in D.

Reverse manual basically just reverses the shift pattern, so you shift back to you to shift up.

That was the only reason I wanted to swap a 97+ cupholder into my XJ.

The cupholders in my CTD are pretty nice.

Cool.

Oh, I like that too.

It's still cheating because you're letting the car do all the rev matching :looney:
