This isn't the first time I've thought this, but with a lot of the stuff I'm doing at work these days, it's especially pertinent.
It amuses me to think how XXXXed everyone here would be if I only did *my* job.
I started as an applications engineer.
Somehow I'm still doing that, but also doing the bulk of our database management, overseeing the transition of our SAP/accounting system, doing prototype development, sourcing parts for said prototypes, managing our warehouse stock & work flow, doing service/field work, customer visits, etc...
All this during what's shaping up to be our strongest first quarter since this USA office was established in 1977.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. The way I look at is I gotta be here 8 hours a day no matter what, so I might as well get as much out of it as I can.
Just kinda strange how much more than my job I do here. I'd bet most people probably don't even realize it. It's a nice feeling.
