THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not going back to read 5 to 6 days worth of posts, but I skimmed them and it looks like Anthony is scrapping his project? Am I the only one that is disappointed and wanted to see him actually complete it?
More Sam meeting people talk.
More wishful truck talk.
So that picture of the kid shooting himself in the face with sparks was selected to be in some art show.
Nice!
Holy XXXX $200???
I could buy 40 pair of the ones I use!
the prez told me 18-20
With the garage door open 'cause the draft. As Colin/Ross stated you might get away with a little less with no air movement on the clean stuff.
 I think my bottles are usually like 2600, I'll tell you for sure tomorrow when I pick another one up.
Sounds about right to me.
My last invoice says $40.12. next time i need a new bottle I'll make sure to note the pressure.
This sounds about right too. I think my last stop was ~$53-55 and that was with two more clear face shield screens.
got the camera from Jordan. He left me a gift lol

Jordan is awesome.
Public Service announcment:

Anthony Poirier sucks.

Carry on.
Man I missed a lot.
Speaking of which, I should get a u-bolt kit and some bolts for my front/rear driveshafts...

I'd have loved to see him complete it, but let's face it, he doesn't want to spend the time on that kind of a project, nor does he have the desire.

I'd rather have him wheeling sooner than spending more time in the garage.

Thanks for the link, ordered.

Nah, I think he would have found the drive in a few months when the weather is beautiful and he isn't out there.

Details on the new rig? How is he moving either one? What is happening with all the parts?

That's were I got a lot of my driveline parts from. Quick service. Cheaper shipping if you call.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

who is at fault if you had to guess?

single lane road, both on motorcycles.
Uh oh, how's the bike? I have no idea, but I'd venture to say him.

We'll see what happens, but yes that's sort of what it's looking like. I wanted to finish it too.

Hehe... Keith knows.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's not even counting the Line Mountain guys who don't get on the interweb. :D

Hold on to your butts...

Got the t-case, driveshafts, shifters, etc back in last night. New bolts for the driveshafts are coming just to be safe. Also ordered the battery cutoff and a new switch, that stuff should be here by thursday. 2 new fire extinguishers with quick-release mounts going in today, also cleaning up some stuff under the hood...still gotta dump & reseal both diffs, probably tomorrow...

Can't wait to see what I manage to XXXX up this weekend. :dunce:

It was good catching up with you on Sunday Chris, thanks again for making the trailer run. Also, thanks for showing me around the shop/JY too. Now I understand why your always at the shop, that place is awesome!!!

No issues with the trailer, I kept having to look back to make sure it was still there on the ride home. Had the Jeep on it yesterday, and it handles great.

That's sort of how I was starting to feel too. Jenn's moving home to NH for the summer and going to UMass Amherst for grad school next year too. So we'll see how/if that goes/continues... But either way I'd have more motivation.

For starters, the shell is clean rust wise. It will be staying 100% full body. I'm thinking of still using most of my parts but running tires a little smaller. Still linked fr and r, airshocks, bumps, doubler, etc. Maybe the 38.5 Creepy's that are cheap where Sam got his for tires. Stiffeners front to back.

I'm thinking of starting from scratch and re-making the front crossmember. It would be a huge PITA to clean it up and I'm betting I could make the second one a lot faster.

yeah i would too, but im not exactly sure how insurance is going to look at this. Seeing as he had half a bikes length on me and im not sure if its illegal to travel side by side. They can put me at fault for following too close and not having enough time to react even though he didnt signal and turned into me.

The bike is pretty messed up. Fairings are junk. My front stay which holds the whole headlight assembly and gauges to the frame broke so that is just flopping around. My engine case is scratched to shit, almost grinded through.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You make a good point about following too closely. He must not have been paying attention or known you were there. And if he didn't signal, that ought to be a dead giveaway to make it his fault.

Plastics are the most expensive part to replace.... So glad my bike has none, but sorry to hear that yours are trashed.

I'm gonna go with you're at fault Bob. Kinda falling into the "control over the front of your vehicle" thing. Unless you can prove he didn't use turn signal or less than visible signals.

I want you to get the new body for the sake of wheeling it before the end of ze world. But it would been kinda cool to see how you'd pull it off.

I has no idea what you be talking about. Freak.

I hate to say this, but sh*t happens and everyone goes down. I always wear my gear because you never know when or how bad it's gonna happen. How bad's the road rash? What were you wearing?

Screw the bike... how are you? I am guessing you weren't going real fast, but it hurts hitting the ground at ANY speed....

If he/anyone can prove that you were behind him coming up alongside of him, it may not go too well for you.

If I don't cut up the front crossmember, there's a good chance I'll keep the chassis. It's not gonna hurt anything just sitting still and 3-4 people can carry it. All hope is not lost.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I meant how you'd pull off your current build. the full bodied rig sounds easy, that's why I'm doing it too.
That's what I mean. It's going to take the back burner (or just get scrapped...) till I'm wheeling the other one.

If I want to attempt something crazier/bigger/faster I'll probably do what Bill suggested and start with chalk on the floor.

Oh that sucks dude, hope everything works out.

Full bodied is the easiest  Fitting the airshocks will be tough though.

5 seconds to cut off the front crossmember with a sawzall. Then just clean up with the grinder. Done.

Damn glad you're ok man, sounds like a hell of an accident.

x2 on both counts.

Why would you even bother keeping that around?

luckily it was still cool out, so i had a hoodie and long sleeve shirt. i got a little on my arm. the ground burnt right through my glove so the back of my hand is bad. Huge bruise and road rash on my hip and road rash on my shin only had shitty jeans on. i learned a lot.
1 never wearing shorts.
2 never going without gloves.
3 Getting a jacket.
4 after getting new fairings im getting a cage for the bike.
