Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

While doing the fuel filter on the GTI I managed to dump a fair amount of gasoline onto my left eye. It, surprisingly, only hurt for a second. And I can still see :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Tis paper I have to write looks like it is going to be painful. I have to try to remember 7 days worth of what I ate and drank, and I can barely function right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

make it a comedy. You drank your heart out :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No, I didn't get really trashed, I didn't have much to drink really. I would say I was at the most buzzed, drank two solo cups less than half full really fast at the start of a drinking game, then decided that was probably a bad idea and stopped playing. 5 minutes after that, one second I was standing talking with my friend, the next I completely lost consciousness and fell straight on my forehead. That's when I was imagining I was somewhere else talking with people, and when I did open my eyes and saw my friend coming towards me I had no clue who he was, what was going on, where I was, or even that I was on the floor.

Whoah... minor concussion?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Two of my buddy's gf's are nurses (haven't graduated yet), so they, among my other friends, were taking care of me. They gave me some concussion tests, but my eyes were responding regularly, despite the massive headache and the feeling like my hole head/shoulder region was pushed over to the left some because of the impact. I could also focus on their faces when they were close, although it did feel like my eyes were trying to go in two different directions for a while. I did bite into my tongue some when I fell, thankfully I didn't bite any of it off. My hip is a little soar too.

We discussed going to the hospital, but we ended up just staying in my friend's room away from the party some. It happened around 1:30 am, and we made sure that I didn't go to sleep for a while (i.e. why I didn't crash on my friend's couch until 5:30). The hit pretty much knocked me sober.

Earlier in the night my friend had said he wanted to see me drunk one time, or at least drink. I ran into him in the hallway once I walked away from the game, and I was telling him I had been drinking, and then that I was all of a sudden really starting to feel it. I don't remember going down at all, but he said one second I was talking with him, the next I just went down.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damn. That's creepy. Have you ever had blood sugar problems before? I'm sure the nursing students know better than me, but it's a thought.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Never really thought about that. I know my grandmother was diabetic. Not sure, don't know if I should even bring it up to my parents.

I definitely felt like I didn't drink that much. I've drank MUCH more before. I know I haven't drank in a while, but its been like that the other times too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have self diagnosed myself with a mild case of hypoglycemia... If I don't eat or something, I get all light headed and shaky. Orange juice is the fastest fix and everyone I know with hypoglycemia or diabetes uses OJ the same way.

It could have been some freak thing combining low blood sugar and just a little bit of booze? Dunno. I hope it doesn't happen to you again.
