Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

not meeeeeeeee. i usually try to put the jeep away from spring to fall. Only use it too wheel.
I wasn't fully awake when I left my house... Only got about 3.5 hrs of sleep. My own damn fault though. Anyway, I didn't think it would be a good idea to hop on my bike while half asleep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's one of the coolest bicycling helmet cam vids I've ever seen. I wish the camera was pointed up a little higher though :( I knew it was going to be a good vid when I saw how wide his handlebars were in the first few seconds. And he did it wearing a suit.

lol @ cisco webex
we use livemeeting but the mute button works just as well. On occasion I will wear my phone headset with my headphones over it so I can mute one and unmute the other real quick if I have to actually say something.

I've noticed almost all helmet cam vids are pointed too low.

Which is silly, because to ride that fast you have to keep your head up. Probably just something to do with the mounting...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a 15 million dollar logic analyzer in my lab. It is about the size of a dorm fridge and uses 50 thousand dollar cable sets (several dozen of them.)

Maybe next time you should try to lose something a little smaller and more expensive. :wow: I'm sure it'll turn up.

Most expensive thing I have in my office is about the size of thumbdrive and costs $15k.

At my old job figures like that were real common. It's weird to think about how much some of the stuff costs.

You guys are both lame.

I drove an HMMWV around with radar on top that was worth well over $200k through Boston out to Nahant.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

15 million > 200k!

driving the HMMWV around was pretty awesome though. Did you get it airborne?

Yeah but I had to drive it through Boston. Aka CRAPPY towns. Plenty of chances for me to get smashed into.

Nah didn't get it airborne. Almost did but IFS/IRS soaks up bumps like crazy. There was one bump that would get my XJ slightly airborne on my way to work. I didn't even feel it in the HMMWV.

Speaking of crappy towns and Boston, I love how the autozone in Dorchester has steel bars over all the windows. Nice neighborhood.

Friend of mine in undergrad was shot and killed in Dorchester.

He used to sit with us at lunch everyday, only knew him for a few months before it happened.

He was in the military and was back to school for engineering.

That was probably one of the worst funerals I've ever gone to.

The only other one that ties it was my other friend I worked with at Town Spa who walked in front of a train. No one ever figured out if it was suicide or an accident. I had dropped him off at home the night before and still had his house keys that he forgot in my XJ when it happened.

That's super crappy. Was it random or did they specifically target him?

Adds another reason to not live in the city... :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It was targeted. Not sure what he did outside of school, but I think he stumbled into the wrong crowd.

He was shot several times while crawling away. He was one of the coolest, most laid back, nicest guys I knew.

RIP James.

:(
