THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We can all push Ross's Jeep off jack stands and I can steal his steering box spacer. :D

Im also heading up your way Friday night. I'll give the spacer to Adam or something so it ends up over at Colin's.

I just gave away my old steering box spacer to Billy last weekend.

:dunno:

And a nice RE trackbar bracket!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speaking of steering box braces...

for the inside, should i use one and weld some 1/8" underneath the rail? or should i weld 1/8" on the inside of the rail instead? i already has the regular ole frame stiffnuhz

My thought when I did the inside rail stiffeners was this:

Plating two adjacent planes is stronger than just one plane, or two plates in the same plane.

I did the outside plates so I'd have something to weld to. I have nothing underneath the rails.

In your case, doing the outside and underneath would be more helpful then the outside and inside.

makes sense, BUT-

with my bumper (1/4" tie ins) and JCR inner brace I still managed to put a healthy crack underneath the framerail...

i think i'll put 1/8" on both side and the bottom, and use an upgraded inner brace, and just get longer bolts for the steering box.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone got a set of 30xwhatever R15s sitting around that they want to sell? Maybe 31xwhatever? With decent tread?

Anything goes, except snow tires, I already have a set of those

So...you just made my point?

I'm basically saying an "L" is stronger than "| |"

EDIT: To make my first post clearer, I plated the TOP and INNER parts of the frame rail, as well as the outside. So it basically is plated in an upside "U"
