THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

any idea what they would charge for explorer 8.8 backing plates/calipers/pads, and zj rotors

My 8.8 backing plates, e-brake cables (useless) pads, 2 sets of e-brake shoes and hardware, and calipers ran me $75 at Everetts junkyard.

ZJ rotors are cheap at NAPA... I don't think I'd run JY brake parts without first rebuilding them.
:gee:
oops...

No seriously, mine came off a CFC vehicle, and all the brake parts were pretty much new.

I was gunna wonder over there, but I found beer instead. I also saw an ex there too.

A girl from my high school was sitting 2 rows in front of me.

Mark, gimme your amp and subs. Thanks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Man... I need a new one too. I'll wait and see what the weekend brings first.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did any of you lazy bums make that pulled pork yet?

This weekend's slow cooker experiment will be baby back ribs w/homemade BBQ sauce & rub. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I look at it this way. Making a full pot of something - chili, pulled pork, ribs so far - usually runs between $10-$20. That either gets me 3 quarts of chili, over 3 lbs of pulled pork, and what will be just under 3 lbs of ribs.

If I eat it all myself, that'll last me a very long time, be very delicious, and pretty economical. But I get bored easy and I like to share, so I usually end up having a little for myself, then bringing the rest of whatever it is out to the bar on Saturday night for the staff & my friends. So far everything has been extremely well received and it's nice to get comments and ideas for the next attempt.

This also usually leads to me not paying for shit all night. This has turned into a tradition over the last 3 weeks, now everyone's asking "what are you gonna bring this time?"

Whatever doesn't get finished (a rare occurance) I bring home...like this week, I had just enough to make a bangin pulled pork sandwich for lunch one day.

So no matter what, that $10-$20 usually turns out to be a pretty good investment, and I enjoy the whole process anyway. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah ours is kind of a dive/sports bar.

First time I brought pulled pork, I just had it out on the bar where we were all standing. It basically just turned into a meat version of a peanut/pretzel jar, everyone was just grabbing it right outta the tray. And the bartender would walk by with a shot glass, scoop some up, and do a shot of pork while getting my next beer.

Filling diffs in sub 80* weather sucks. So I jammed an air blow gun in the end of the bottle and put pressure to that hoe.

Filling diffs in >80* weather sucks too because it smells so much worse.

1. Fill ziploc bag with gear oil
2. Place ziploc bag in diff
3. Seal & replace cover
4. Drive away

Worked great for changing an axle shaft in near-single-digit temps at Rausch...especially if you use the ziploc bag to drain the diff into as well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that's brilliant. I wonder what the torn up ziploc does to the pinion oiling passage though?

I'm a fan of keeping the diff lube in a warm place (inside the vehicle, say, right over the cat and muffler) and using about a foot of vinyl hose on the nozzle to make it so you can hold the bottle almost entirely upside down while squeezing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my facebook newsfeed is being blown up by the local dirt road wheelers talking about 8" iron rock longarm kits and thornbirds

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thanks for the link Chris. I'm not sure if I want to get the 100 cut off disks and angle grinder, or go for the 50 chop saw blades and chop saw. I already have a Dewalt angle grinder, but I don't have a chop saw.
