whats easier to swap on to a 44 ZJ disks or 8.8 disks

I'm not sure about 8.8 disks, but I know ZJ disks require opening the backing plate up, redrilling the bolt pattern in the rotor, and adapting the e-brake (if you care about that part). That's the route I went on my 8.25 at about the same time Travis did it to his 44 and redrilling the rotors was the only thing he did differently.whats easier to swap on to a 44 ZJ disks or 8.8 disks

Oh... you just used ZJ rotors with crown vic calipers.... That's what it was.To put 8.8 discs on the 44 you just need to oval out the 4 mounting holes, dont need to touch the center big hole.
To put zj discs on a 8.25 you dont need to touch the mounting holes, but need to open up the big center hole.
Idk about putting zj discs on a 44, but the 8.8 ones were easy IMO
looks XXXXing awsome! way better then the old setup, sucks the run sat got canceled though![]()

I figured out how to do 2 pics in the same post, yay methe toob along the fender has 3 bends in 2 different planes, pretty snazzy if ya ask me. Not bad for our first go with the bender anywho :dunno:
travis was running 5.5 wheelsDunno why you'd have to redrill rotors to put them on another 5x4.5 axle, but all the rest makes sense to me!

I think you're right, hat height was the issue.I used explorer 8.8 backing plates/calipers/pads, and zj rotors. I forget what the reason was for the zj rotors to be honest, something to to with the hat height
