THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That exact model. Its not a bad gun, but its nothing special either.
What I would recommend
In that price range- http://www.henryrepeating.com/rifle-acubolt.cfm, http://www.henryrepeating.com/rifle-lever-action.cfm, http://www.ruger.com/products/1022Carbine/models.html

Cheaper- http://www.mossberg.com/products/default.asp?id=30, http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/BoltAction22/925.asp

Or if you want a cheap, rugged gun that is relatively inexpensive to shoot, and has a man caliber- http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item.aspx?PID=80226&w=PQ+JDyOLrQE=

They are awesome. My sisters boyfriend has one, he spent over 10k on it, and still has more to do to it, and that doesn't include the different shooting jackets he has for different shooting positions. Of course he is also nationally ranked, so I guess he can justify spending that much. I will just have to be satisfied with shooting it once in a while, that is whenever I can stop drooling over it long enough to actually shoot.
It is good to hear from someone with first hand experience with that Savage. I haven't handled one yet.

I remember shooting Marlins with iron sights in Scout camp... From what I remember they were decently well made.

Wow, that's impressive. I guess if that's all that he's into and gets his money out of it cool.

I'm going to take a look at your links now.

Tim, do you have any experience with Mossberg 46A rifles? Seen here

I'm not ready to buy, but I want to do my research before I have cash in hand.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How long have you owned it?

(What's the difference between the M and A models?)

Hard to find parts makes sense... They are old guns, after all.

edit: I haven't fired all that many different calibers of rifles. In fact, nothing other than .22LR comes to mind. On the other hand, I have fired many different models of bolt action single shot rifles. It seemed like Treasure Valley was always changing their rifle of choice. Out of the dozen or so models I shot, one stood out above the rest and it also happened to be decades older. I wish I remembered what model it was now... But it had original peep sights, a leather sling, and was at least twice as heavy as any other rifle on the range.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got home and it looks like I have an ally in the apartment building, someone drives a white 97+ with a couple inches of lift and 235s/245s.

Mossberg 12 ga's are indeed nice guns. The 46A in question is an entirely different gun from an entirely different era.
10/22 Nuff said.
yeah yeah... It's hard to argue that it's a nice gun.

Search for Halvin Sales, they are very up to par on these particular models. What are you doing looking anyway? Can you even legally own one yet? ;)

Never shot one myself, but from what I have seen, everyone who has one likes it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In fairness Keith is about the size of a 12yr old so it works out. :D

There are several guns in my family like that. Always nice to hear about them in others' families.

I can't but my father can ;) And I plan on owning in the near future. I'm sure that if I gave him $ he'd buy it for me and we'd do a little paperwork later.

I'll look at that site. Thanks.

 good to know

going to harbor frieght tomorow with a $50ish limit, 25 of that is bein spent on c clamps, anything else worth buying with the other 25, how are there cutoff disc?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cancertastic and not as cheap as bullett industries ones iirc. Not as durable either.

Their welding clamps and magnets are decent. I have a whole stack of the 6" throat welding clamps / special vise grips. The really long welding clamps aren't worth shit though.

Haha just goes to show what I know about guns.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
