THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I still have those wheels Ryan.
forgot about that. i don't have the cash for em, so by all means don't hold them for me.

ill letchu know
you have 3 options for a 44. 8x6.5, 6x5.5, 5x5.5

8x6.5 is the cheapest to get hi steer and run a D60 rear. or you need to get knuckles off a 79 ford D44

6x5.5 is chevy. Works especially well with an Isuzu rear end

5x5.5 is 1/2 ton ford. they're common.

So what are you using for a rear axle and what kind of steering do you want?
im lookin at 5x5.5, just doing an OTK, no hi steer and keeping my rear 44 for now. maybe someday way down the road ill bump up to a 60 rear
do 250? and get some motha XXXXin orange knuckles
right now its looking like brown, rusty knuckles for me :tear:

I've got rimz for 5x5.5!

Quick, everyone in the NAC try to hock their shit to Ryan!

In all seriousness, that's a reasonable plan.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I had a torpedo heater and some weird propane heater going in the garage tonight. I was in a long sleeve and jeans. Then I ran out of propane :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im putting a MM 8500 winch on my trailer for those just in case moments. I am planning on running the 12v power that charges the trailer battery to a dedicated deep cycle to run the winch. ill put a fuse on it so i dont fry the wire if the winch stalls.

any objections to that? wiring is not my strong suit so forgive me if I'm way off on this

trying to keep this on the cheap so no I'm not buying 40 ft of 2awg to run off the truck batteries

Id just go to the junkyard and pull some 80s dodge outers for $50. No special parts or mixing and matching.

I'd also stay 5x5.5 so you don't have to touch the rear axle, just get chromos drilled for both bolt patterns.

High steer is nice, but not 100% necessary. Getting the dodge outers leaves the option open, and I think they are drilled OTK from the factory, though not sure what size TRE they use.

If he goes 8 lug he can get the coolest rear axle around, the E250 dana 60. It will cost less than chromos. Of course, everyone knows it's almost impossible to find used 8 lug wheels.
