THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:laugh:
Wow.
I can't really believe I'm going to type this but... better than snow. More snow = costing me dollars.

Oh, and I know you 'gents probably didn't hit the home show this weekend but man what a disappointment that was. Sure has gone way down hill from what it was 4 or 5 years ago.
yeah... I really want NO precipitation. I prefer rain to snow also right now for the same reason, rain melts snow and means I can get back to work sooner...

The roads are a disaster though, mostly due to stupid drivers. It was just water on most of my drive to work, but I got stuck in 3 traffic jams because of people who have no idea how to drive.

Nope. I only have a few weeks to collect these permits and if I have to pay a guy to go out and dig in the snow to mark points and do topo work it gets more costly than if he just walked on bare non-snow covered ground.
Right now it's building up this horrible slick ice layer on anything that is insulated in the least - snow, dirt, grass, trees. Asphalt seems to hold enough heat and soak up enough IR that it's not icing the roads.

I've run missmatched bearing caps before. BFD
Between you and Bradley I think you've pretty much got the whole list of "things you are not supposed to do" covered, you guys have amazing luck.

Adam, credit is evil, don't do it. You don't know where you are going to be in a year or what financial situation you will be in. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm getting a zero interest for one year credit card after work today.

my build shall move faster now methinks.

I'm getting 160 lbs of shit tomorrow for my build.

I think I'm almost done buying stuff.

After my next paycheck (next Thursday) I should have everything I need to finish mine.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony, don't read about what parts you need. Checking the numbers that come off your stuff is the only way to ensure right parts.

DO NOT DO THIS! (unless you have the cash up front on have a solid plan to pay it back)

Yeah, well hopefully the weather forecast for Wednesday holds true and it'll be in the 40s.

That's got to be a good feeling.

I dunno how heavy my box is going to be. I'm betting somewhere in the 115# range.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Exactly why I still don't have a credit card.
This can also be a very bad thing when you need to go apply for stuff; worse than having a credit card with a very low or zero balance.

I've checked the PN's of what I have, but I guess I'm doing too much web wheeling. These axles are convenient though - Same carrier bearings, wheel bearings, spindle thread :)

x4, don't do it.

I'll be amazed if they turn me down for something when I have 0 debt with my salary.

I've had student loans they can check my history of (never defaulted) and I plan on having a sizeable downpayment for a house. I don't plan on having to apply for a loan for anything else.

I still see 0 need for a credit card except for emergencies. I have my debit/credit from my bank that is just as convenient.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wah its not like i'll be dumping a huge amount at a time when i cant afford it. instead of dropping everything on my checking account in one huge bomb, i'll pay it off over 2 months. i need a credit card anyway, im building credit paying back my student loans but thats it. without a major credit card no one will give you a loan, regardless of the cash you bring in.

You would be, but you'd be mistaken if you have no credit. Even just a student loan might not be enough.

This was the very first question when I was applying for land loans and truck loans. "Do you have any credit?"

Honestly, don't take my advise, call a financial specialist or a loan officer, they'll be able to tell you what you want/need. Don't wait if you want to do something in the next few years though.

Yeah... I know you're not saying this to me, but people give me this one all the time!

Problems with not having enough loans and stuff on your credit history:
* can't get a good mortgage
* can't get good credit card rates
* can't get car loans

Reasons I don't care:
* I don't have and don't want a mortgage
* I don't have and don't want a credit card
* I have 4 cars that can do anything I need or want them to when they are actually running and driving, why do I want a car loan?

So why do I care if I have a good credit score or not? Why do I care if I have a credit score at all?

People usually kinda give me a blank stare and open and close their mouths and have nothing to say when I drop that one on them.

Oh, I guess that's reasonable... I still hate credit cards though :laugh2:

The only thing that MIGHT cause a problem is getting a mortgage. I NEVER plan on financing a vehicle. I'll drive a crapcan before I invest in something like that.

Exactly. Doesn't really have to be a credit card, but some form of credit score gaining material other than a single student loan.

That works for you, but generally people can't drop cash on buying a house or land. Sure, I'd love to be in the same spot but I can't be.

It will. Don't believe me, again call a financial specialist or a loan officer. It won't cost you anything now, but it'll help you later.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Only reason I want CC is fir online buying and gas. I hate putting my debit info on the webz for obvious reasons.

I put the same info as you online with my debit. Number and expiration date (occasionally security code).

I always try to go through paypal when I do anything.

I like basket cases that start out cheap and then nickle and dime me to death :roflmao: you started with a much better property and are building what will definitely be a much better house, there is no way I could pull that off on my budget.
