I've never owed on taxes, and I rarely get anything back either. I cut that shit close.

So...got a wakeup call tonight. My buddy's truck just about burned to the ground.

Thing was pretty much mint, very built 454, clean interior, nice paint.

He went outside and started it to warm it up, came back inside. Someone else went outside a few minutes later and came running back in yelling about fire extinguishers...well, 9 of them later, the fire was out.

Turns out the starter got stuck on and melted the battery cable, which melted onto the fuel line by the mechanical fuel pump. The engine choked and died from not having any oxygen under the hood, but the starter was still trying to crank it over, and was slowly pumping fuel out the leak. Shit caught fire and that was that.

The stupid Kidde ones from Lowes/Home Depot are a waste of money. We spend thousands of dollars on axleshafts and buy the cheapest stupid fire extinguishers we can find. My friend is going tomorrow to get everything refilled...I told him to get me two more of the rechargeable ones to put in my XJ. The two Lowes/Kidde ones I had in the jeep didn't do shit to put the fire out.

Sometimes it takes something like this to re-focus your priorities, ya know?

Truck looked like this before, minus the dodge wheels (which are now on my truck), plus some nice 17" aftermarket alloys.

Glad i'm too lazy to let my cars warm up. If I'm not in my car, it's not on.

I cared more when I could get a decent rate on a savings account elsewhere. Now I can get what, 1.5%? What's 1.5% of like a thousand bucks? 15 bucks. Ok, they owe me two meals at burger king per year. Big deal.

I can't imagine how that guy must feel. What a fluke that ended in disaster. Good thing nobody was hurt.

I've said it many times before, $20-30 difference between a cheap and a good extinguisher is nothing.

What I'm really pumped about is all the large orders for my MJ are now done (minus seats/harnesses/cage but I'm not doing that until after NACfest).

All I really need is tedious stuff now like exhaust, hydroboost, radiator, etc.

I have my federal return coming in soon so that should take care of that stuff.
