To me its like having another savings account :dunno: why do I care if they have a no interest loan from me?

I'd rather get money back than risk owing them money.

Most Republicans are of the opinion 'It's my goddam money and I want it to be in my possession all along. Why should I give the govt a free handout so they can spend $XXXX.00 of my money between May of last year and April of this year?

If you give the government, any government - state or federal, money, they will spend it.

Colin, I'm going to turn your question back on you now. Why do you want the government to have some of your money on loan and not owe you any interest?

Sure they're going to spend what they're budgeted for, and ill get back what I'm owed.

It's not like I'm handing them money and expecting nothing back.

I don't care if they're getting an interest free loan. I don't understand why I should. It's not like I'm dumping $10k onto their laps at the beginning of the year either, they're getting it in small increments.

We're all paying taxes regardless, so I'd rather pay more than I need to and get money back, than get more money throughout the year and end up owing a substantial amount to them.

Sure they're going to spend MORE THAN what they're budgeted for, and ill get back what I'm owed.

I'm not disagreeing with you. In a perfect world, you're right. Unfortunately, the situation at hand is far from perfect.

Regardless of what they spend they can't take more from me than what they're taxing everyone in the same bracket as me.

The point at which it becomes a problem is when they can't pay me back.

I don't consider this a "less govt" issue. It's a personal preference of how you handle your finances.

Ah, but they can't legally increase taxes without passing a bill through Congress...

Same here. I don't think the FY11 budget is even going to get signed. We're still on continuing resolution and there's already talk of the FY12 budget.

That's all that really needs to be said.

I think that within our lifetimes it won't be as beneficial to work for the federal govt or its contractors as it was during our fathers' time in the workforce.

Don't feel like reading the last couple 10 pages or so.

The popping and slop I was seeing when moving the wheel back and forth wasn't the steering box moving away from the frame, it was the sector shaft. Sweet! It looked pretty gross.

New computer up and running, man this thing is sweet.
