THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Depends on whose definition of destroyed you are using.

Completely wrecked, as in bulldozed/mountaintop strip mined? Not gonna happen, doesn't matter how much money you give me. I don't consider myself an environmentalist really, but some things should be preserved as they are, and on top of that, money doesn't really motivate me much.

Someone builds a wheeling trail that goes to it and SUWA/the Sierra club get all up in arms? Hell, I'd pay for that, you don't need to pay me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In all honesty, I'd take the money. That place would be destroyed in a few years anyways and I wouldn't get a cent. Sad but true.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Like removed from existance destroyed? Or just burned or whatever?

Nature rebuilds itself over time.

Give me enough money to work at a home depot or something for the rest of my life and still live comfortably and I'd be fine if it was just burned down or whatever.

I was assuming "gone forever" destroyed :dunno: if it was just a forest fire I'd probably take a couple grand :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

To make it interesting, let's say Hiroshima-style. Nuke the XXXXer over a mile radius.

I'd like to say I wouldn't take it either, but that's a cop out of an answer. $100 million staring you in the face would be hard to say no to.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Let's also say that just because you say no, doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna remain untouched for eternity. You don't know where this is, it could be only a mile or so removed from development.

:D

Eh...that's a little tougher. You're probably killing animals and whatnot too.

I'm not a tree-hugger, but there comes a certain point where it would bother me.

yeah, I thought of this possibility afterwards. If me not taking the money would somehow ensure that it stayed as-is eternally, I'd feel way too guilty taking money to let it be ruined. But, if it was either I take the money now or someone else takes the money in 5 years and it's ruined anyways, well I'd be dumb to not take the money.

The Evil that Men do...

Travis's [first] answer is undoubtedly the politically correct choice, but I would argue also the more ethical and moral one.

I don't know what I'd do. I probably wouldn't decide until after it happened, then I'd have to live with my decision one way or the other.

I believe there was a movie about this recently. A family was given a box with a button. If they pushed it, someone they didn't know and will never know died. But they got $1M. ... I never saw it.

Still no updates:

nukes = no, for any reason.

My search desire is broken, what ebrake lines should I get for a ZJ disc swap?
I think Crown is making em brand new these days...? not sure. If not, I seem to recall the goofy lever setup being basically the same as the ones on an exploder, but explorer e-brake cables have some really :gee: setup on the frame. I'd grab the ZJ e-brake cables, I have a set I picked up for the 8.8 swap but haven't measured length to see if they'll even work out well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Jeff is soopa far. I was hoping for a "get ones from a KJ" or "get Zj ones" so I can go to my local parts store and grab them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The 3/8" drive was this funky Husky one from Home Depot; it was a regular ratchet that the handle also twisted to spin the drive without having to swing it at all. I had that one for 6 years before that bag got lost.

My zero degree Husky ratchet is the only Husky Ratchet I havent broken...

Use a ratchet as a ratchet and a breaker bar as a breaker bar.

Quoted for truth.

What amount of money would you need to get, in order to be OK with this?

Can I wheel the dried up riverbed afterwards?

f that, I'd push that button like a crack addicted rat.

it's a pretty decent bet that asshat had no idea what to do with the left lane and parked their butt in it without passing anyone, which means they should die anyways.

Man you are making that really hard.

Got your stock ones? Use them.

I had a set of ZJ cables I was going to use for the swap on the '99, but they are way way to long. I had them listed for free for awhile on here but nobody postsed so they hit the trash a few months ago. The stock XJ ones work great with a simple $0.19 cable clamp.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

a simple $0.19 cable clamp.

betcha they're at least $0.38 now, cause everything seems to double in price after you do it... "you paid how much for _____?! That's crazy, I called around/went to my local mom 'n pop and got the same thing for $____!!"

My stock ones are junk-o and stretched to the max with my high roller lift. So new ones can't hurt. How long was too long?
