I think when it comes time to do my axle internals I want to do the Jana 76 setup in my front axle and run low gears.

Still have to look up the BOM on my D70 to see which ones will work...

Who is breaking HP D60 R&Ps? Sure you might be making 20HP more than a stock 4.0L, but that is nothing.

Not worth having odd parts and the extra work, IMO.

By "run low gears" do you mean be stuck with either 4.88 or 5.13's since thats the only gearsets available for the HP70 and theyre a dealer only type thing?

No one that I know and it has nothing to do with how much power I'm making. There are no 5.38's for the D70.

People run 5.86's all the time, but those must be low pinion. I said 'low' because I don't know what's out there just yet.

Regardless of what I go with, I need to do something different than 5.38's. It just seemed like a good idea to increase strength fairly easily while I could.

The install instructions say plan on double or triple the time to setup the gears.

Not worth the time/effort to me.

I don't know ANYONE that's broken a front D60 gearset.

I don't care how long it takes to install it. If I was worried about install time I'd have bought a TJ and bolted everything together.

I'm not saying I'll be doing it, but there are plenty of stories on teh interwebz of broken D60 gearsets.
