THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I dont have that kind of luck.
Yesterday I replaced the belt and a bad idler pulley on the truck, this morning the tensioner tries to escape, taking out the brand new belt.
Closest thing I have ever had that I can remember is picking up a new to me engine when mine started knocking. It soon stopped knocking permanently

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I use murphy's law to my advantage, I keep a spare part for almost anything the junkyard or autozone doesn't have, as well as spare jeeps.

My only real worry is usually limpiing it home so I can work on it.

The sad thing is, all my spare parts cost less than one of my coworkers just spent putting a new fuel pump in her saturn. I was like "you paid WHAT? Jesus, I would have done that for you lying on my back in a snowy parking lot for half that." They charged her 800 bucks.

powerjoke e350?

Yeah... wish I'd had time to put a plow on the mj before the snow started, I would be making bank right now.

Limped the dirty POS from hudson to auburn, grabbed the idler pulley off my spare engine, limped it home, and threw it on. I am so glad jeep decided to put a flange washer under the bolt holding that pulley down, because that was all that was holding it in place. 8 of 14 ball bearings remained, if one more had fallen out it would have been all over.

This is the closest the dirty POS has ever come to letting me down and I hope it stays that way. It was making noises far worse than it was at nacfest..

Worse than the noises at nacfest? Holy shite that had to sound bad :wow:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken did you get the durango box in the 96?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't worry Ken i found out that you can drive home from PA with 0 bearings left in the idler pulley.

Not yet, waiting on a steering box spacer. If I don't get it soon I'm gonna be impatient enough to dig a hole in the snow where I usually weld and make one myself.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I heard, cant wait.

personally, i love snow.
x2.
it figures...this year we're getting hammered with snow, and this is the first year EVER that i've wanted it to go away more than i've wanted it to be here. with no garage i'm really boo-hooing about not being able to do much of anything with the jeep. and i'm kinda afraid of playing with the welder too much with all this snow around. it just doesn't seem to be a good idea :dunno:
Solution is easy here. Empty tent into my truck/trailer = you have a nice place to weld all dry.

Seriously.

This snow is seriously inhibiting my ability to get anything done except sit around with my thumb up my ass and bellyache :rattle:
Don't you have lots of interior work to gut/strip/replace/finish?

Yes, but I was hoping to have a roof on it by then... and I don't have a dumpster to put the waste in (truck can't go down that road in the winter) and can't easil access the place and get my tools to it when there is thiis much snow on the ground. I can gut it but can't put the trash anywhere, and can't redo the interior till I have it 100% waterproof and preferably till I finish the foundation for the chimney, because jacking the sill plates up will crack any new drywall I do.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how can one think that 1.25 hex and 7/8 hiems are ok for a wheelin rig nevermind one on the road

But I guess the little hex stock will be OK, as long your link mounts are below the axle centerline. Mine aren't, which is probably a contributing factor.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Lets not muck up the thread to much, I genuinely want to see him try to backpedal out of what myself and Chris just posted. :)

I can't believe I just wasted all the time doing those numbers.
