THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Now I get to charge her to work on her Jeep. I was telling her sarcastically "Good luck getting Ross to help me replace your rockers...he's gonna hate you now."

Hahaha, now she's gunna be bugging me all the time to fix it.

And why is superior "meh"?

Is that from your amazingly accurate internet research?

I HAD their rear axleshafts and to me they seemed top notch.

I'd also be getting the gearset for FREE thanks to some gift certificates.

If the install kits don't come with Timkens then I'll say no thanks to that.

The shafts are better then their gears. Just like how yukon gears are better then yukon shafts

A guy on NEOW recommended using buffalo meat rather than the ground beef too. It's leaner and healthier. Bison would probably have a similar affect.

Ill probably be bringing a few pounds home. The town we just got to in Montana above north enterence has wild buffalo and mule deer walking around the streets. I walked outta my hotel room after changing and a mule deer came right up to me and I was able to pet it.

I might get drunk and try to ride it later....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my town is like dead, so much snow. 23" apparently
Just wait, they are forceasting another 20-25 next week.
This storm cleaned up easy, I was done with the plowing by 11, even after loosing the truck 4 hours when the belt tensioner exploded at 5am.
I just spent the rest of the day moving piles of snow to make room for more, and it looks like I will be doing it through the weekend.
Really thinking about trying it with that ground bison I mentioned before...I'm not worried about the couple extra bucks, but would it taste different enough to be worth trying? It's also about 1/4-lb shy of the usual amount of meat I'd put in, and I wouldn't want to screw it up with bacon or sausage if it *is* different. Or maybe get two pounds, make it a little meatier with 1-1/2 lbs, and do a stir-fry or burgers for lunch with the rest...
The ground bison in the stores are farm raised, and imo not that great of a flavor when compared with the fresh bison I had in wyoming. If its free range bison, it may not be too bad though. Even then, its not that much different than beef that you would notice the difference in chili.
You had left Bill's by the time we got to grinding...but I further exposed my hack-ness there too. Face shield? And what's this dumb guard thing around the grinding wheel that gets in the way of everything I'm trying to do?
I tend to be bad about wearing a face shield when grinding, and very good at digging things out of my eyes. They cant be related, can they? I will say though that I have gotten far more in my eyes after it bounced off the inside of safety glasses than I have ever gotten in them without wearing any.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

There's a bison farm in Amherst. You can feed, pet, and eat them all within about 15 mins.

you're kidding right?

yep, f it, I give up on the roof till March.

yep, my glasses do real good at deflecting things into my eyes. I can't see shit without em though, so I wear a birth control style face mask when grinding now.

I try to keep a good strong rare earth magnet with rounded corners and a couple clean rubber gloves around while grinding too, those are magical when removing tiny pieces of metal from your eyes. Zero abrasion and rubbing, just lifts it right out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I always wear safety glasses while grinding but never a mask. Knock on wood I've never had anything get stuck in my eye

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was just transferring some pictures onto my computer's hard drive, when I figured I'd take a look at how much space is left. 322mb's. (120gb internal hard drive)

Looks like I know what I'm doing tonight...

hot damn thats a tiny hard drive.

you're kidding right?

hahahaha awesome.

I need to get the 5 ton fixed and put a dump bed on it at this rate

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A farmer plowed off a hay lot near me and put up a sign that says "Dump your snow here $5 a truckload"
by the end of the day, there were probably 20 loads in the field.
Makes me wish I had a open lot somewhere.

Ya, and that was back when it was a pretty good size hard drive. Got the computer in '06.

I have 250 and 750gb externals that I'll be dumping stuff onto. I looked, the My Pictures folder is 30gb, and my music folder is 40gb, so I'll have to see where the other portion of that crap is, and delete a ton.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris, now I'm curious to know how you stumbled upon that name.

Saw this pic.

Yeah it's free range. Just wanting to try something different...we'll see how it works out.

Brilliant.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I heard, cant wait.

personally, i love snow.
now that I have zero chance of finishing the roof before it all melts, so do I.

well, as soon as my damn jcr steering box spacer shows up... ps anyone got one of those for sale, or a dry location with a roof where I can plug my welder in and make one myself?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it figures...this year we're getting hammered with snow, and this is the first year EVER that i've wanted it to go away more than i've wanted it to be here. with no garage i'm really boo-hooing about not being able to do much of anything with the jeep. and i'm kinda afraid of playing with the welder too much with all this snow around. it just doesn't seem to be a good idea :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Seriously.

This snow is seriously inhibiting my ability to get anything done except sit around with my thumb up my ass and bellyache :rattle:

Welding in the snow shouldn't be much of a worry unless you are afraid of electrocution, then it's the same as welding in the rain.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah. I might buy a bunch of fiberglass blankets or something and just cover my yard with em :D
