THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I asked him who's it was and he said it was his :dunno:

I haven't paid him yet :D

It was a 9' piece.
Yep, that was mine. I had had a full length piece, but Ross asked if he could chop it down to two 9' pieces to fit inside his container.

Its fine, I wasn't using it at the moment.

Storage fees turned into ownership :D

Hell, I've have this pile of DOM so long (since before Bill's cage) I have no clue on the prices or if you even payed for it. Did you give money directly to bill for it? I know I bought some and just resold it to colin and carmelo and anthony
Yes, it was paid for. That was ordered the same time we ordered the 4x2 and the 1/4" plate. That was for the bumper I was going to make.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This^

We make fun of you cause you spent so much time getting it running and don't even USE it.

:D

You going on Saturday Anthony?
Until the soundsytem came into focus I was out there almost every night. Just never had much to show for my time.

Yep, I'm gonna be there. Hopefully Jenn too.

Do you want me to give you the money for it instead?

I was supposed to give the money to Ross.

Or I could just not give anyone any money :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah I'm pretty whiny about it. But there were two 16 hour+ days of working on the car in there.

I used to build sub boxes in high school and my first few years in college. 16+ hours of that is nothing compared to fabrication/jeep work. :tears:

Shit, a year ago last weekend actually. I was getting behind on the front coilover stuff and had to get it finished and tested before loading up for KOH in 10 days.

Started after work on Thursday, worked on it til 2 AM, got up at 6:30 the next morning for work.

Pulled an all-nighter on it Friday after work, loaded up the truck and trailer at 5 AM, drove out to Rausch (3 hours in the snow), wheeled it all morning, 3 more hours home in the snow, unloaded, cleaned the shop, etc.

Point being, if you want to get something done, it's not easy.

I did that for a few days straight over my vacation.

Suck it up and be prepared to do it on your XJ or else you'll always feel like you don't make any progress.

^ what he said

Oh, the heated garage you all made fun of for me getting running? :D

This time of year, I can't wait til everyone leaves the shop so I can turn it back down to 40-45* and actually get work done without sweating my balls off.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We had to keep the garage warmer than we would have liked to do the car. Plastic doesn't like flexing @ 40-45* and dynamat-type damping material doesn't like conforming either.

The piece you have is mine, so you're giving me the money :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I still haven't used any of Marks tube........YET. ill probably end up using it for the traction bar and some other stuff.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if he doesn't we are all making fun of him at the meet and greet behind his back and there is nothing he can do about it
I will only make fun of him if he doesn't show up AND doesn't get any work on the jeep done. Either one = no fun will be made

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Does this make sense to anyone else? I think running the shock mount this way is fine?

What I posted on that kids thread on Pirate:

I wouldn't mount the bolt parallel to the axle, I would mount it perpendicular to the axle (along with the top mount)

With a 3-link, provided your control arms are close to the same length, you shouldn't get much fore and aft twisting right? Because the pinion angle doesn't change during travel? I would think the small amount the axle moves front and back because of the arc of the control arms can be absorbed by the bushings?

I might be missing something, but it makes sense in my head?

I basically want to mount the shock off of the outboard LCA tab.

The only problem I could see is the force on the upper mount isn't straight up and down anymore since I'm using the JKS adapters. Should that matter...?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's always how I've ran mine.

What are the JKS adapters? Just the thing that bolts in place of the old pin mount, with a through bolt for the top end of the shock? If so, that's also what I ran, and never had an issue.

That kid is 'tarded.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
