THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Apparently my tranny cooler lines are still pissing a little fluid from somewhere after my second to last RSG run (gonna miss that place :(.) I just noticed a hesitation issue and sure enough, I was quite low on ATF...

I think my rig just likes leaking ATF. I swap in a non-FUBAR transfer case and two days later, the tranny lines are puking it up all over.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Time to drop $1350 on steering.
I'm thinking about making a little comic based on "jeep-isms" and calling it Jeeple. Only problem is I don't really think I'm that funny :D

Here is my first attempt.... should I quit or keep going?

I can't wait to see what this thing will do on the trail...

10-11" here. B-O-R-I-N-G.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Full Hydro setup ordered with pump modified for hydroboost setup.

Spoke with Lance for a while about hydroboost setups in XJ/MJs and he gave me a whole list of parts and work to do to get it to fit. Sounds pretty damn easy.

Basically, 68-76 Corvette master, newest Superduty I can find hydroboost, some adapters, a little cutting/welding and bam, bolt in.

He said he wouldn't go any other way with brakes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Since no one's talking about anything.

I got these boots for Christmas:

Merrell Isotherm 8

Freakin awesome. A little stiff for the first day or two, but now after working outside through 2 big snowstorms I'm very impressed. My feet didn't get cold or wet once.

Made the mistake of wearing them to work yesterday and spent the whole day with sweaty feet...definitely not an indoor product. Still comfortable enough to wear all day though.

Highly recommended if you need new winter boots.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I like Merrell boots, the pair I had awhile ago were very comfy. Only issue is they NEVER seem to go on sale and I can't justify nor afford a $150/pair.

I just went to Bob's and bought some Timberlands on sale for $30.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah I can't see myself spending $150 on boots. I'll bet they're really comfortable though.

I'm probably just going to get another pair of Timberland pros. They lasted me 4 years and still going.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My dad had asked what I wanted for Christmas, and I mentioned new winter boots - my old ones were steel toe, and the steel part had ripped through the outer leather, and I didn't really like the steel toe in the cold anyway.

So I ended up with these and nothing else. Haha. Fine by me, I expect they'll last quite a long time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My Chippewa workboots (logging style) were $250. Are they the best boots I've ever owned? You bet. Once or twice a year with some sno-seal and they're good as new.

My Keen hiking boots are what I'll wear for just a little bit of stuff on the ground, especially because driving while wearing the logging boots blows.

I almost bought a pair of Merrils, but they just didn't fit right. They are definitely a great boot.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just finished reshoveling all the walkways and stuff. Deffinitely at least 18-20" here.

What are you doing later tonight after dinnerish time? I have some one dollar bills and a blank dvd I can burn a bridgeport video to.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I demolish about a pair of boots per year, so I try not to spend much on them.

Hell, roofing my house has nearly shredded this pair in the last 3 months. The insides of both heels are nearly wearing through right below my ankle bones.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was due for a new pair of hiking boots as well. Basically, my qualifications were comfortable, warm and waterproof. I had a pair of Wolverines, and really wanted to get another pair just like I had, buit couldn't find them anywhere. I ended up blowing out the sides of my Wolverines (but just the outside), but amazingly, they are STILL waterproof. I learned that Wolverine owns Merrell, so started looking more seriously at them.
Ended up with a pair of Merrell Moab XCR Goretex boots.

It turns out that Dicks SPorting Goods has these marked down right now too (last years model). I got them for $95. Very comfortable versatile boot so far. I couldn't see spending anything over $100 for boots either.

Difference is though is that decent boots WILL last through the abuse you can put them though. I just won't spend more than $100 on them.

My timberlands started lift with me working at Sears. AKA everyday oil spilling on them, stepping on valve cores and tire patches all over the place, etc.

I still use those same boots to work on my MJ and that was 3-4 years ago.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$250 for workboots???

Holy CRAP.
My feet never get sore, they're always dry, comfortable, and warm. My previous $150 Chinese Chippewas (that I had to wear to work) lasted almost 2 years before they wore out, so these should last a fair amount longer. They actually aren't totally worn out, but when I wear them for a while my knees hurt. So I don't wear them.
