Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i want leaf springs that dont suck

and its hard to click "buy" when i have $865 worth of deaver leaf springs in my internet shopping cart

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I need to get my 44 housing from billy so I can leave it sitting around for a while and be cool like ross

I am one stupid transfer case from being ready to wheel, I just can't motivate myself to install it. Every time I go out to do it, it starts snowing or the temp goes into the single digits or I forget my tools at the house or something.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

do it you wont.

i'm buying a pair soonish

i dont think i will.

i just want to get the back end up to level with the front at this point and spend money on a frame.

every time i look at this body i find more things wrong with it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't know, what do you want to pay for them? I have the ford knuckles, caliper brackets, spindles, calipers, pads. All ball joints would obviously need to be replaced, since you would want to do that anyway, and I removed the knuckles by cutting the ball joints. One spindle has been freed from the knuckle, the other needs to be removed. The spindle is a little frozen in there, but nothing a BFH can't fix (I removed one spindle before I decided to go high steer).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

right now im thinking: stockish axles and 33's. and build something with a frame

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would agree... you seem to break unibodies fairly quickly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

on the xj. plate the frame where its cracked and torn, downsize and cheapify it a little. and build a tj while having a reliable wheeler

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what im mullin around in mah head is this:

find some sucker to buy my axles for $3000
bolt some lamer axles in the xj.
sell the tj for say $1800
buy a 4.0, 5speed unrotted tj for $4800 give or take

and have a cookie cutter xj and stock tj which will soon be an awesome tj

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

or throw my axles in my tj like i have been doing with every other jeep i have owned once i realized i wanted to XXXXing wheel and not spend time building shit. and bam, have a super beater tj

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just learned something about clayton leaf springs

WE have them in stock, the 6.5 and the 4.5 are the same leaf pack. So i'd just order the 6.5's. We remove the 3rd leaf from the top to make it 4.5 (basically the one thats directly under the one that's wrapped around that top leaf)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love having my sleep schedule all XXXXed up from plowing

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

These questions rule.

ive been looking at your rig a lot lately (one of my favorite cherokees around) and was wondering if you had any pictures of how you did your comp cut? i am getting ready to do something similar to yours. i want to cut the back hatch off, comp cut the rear, and dove tail the rear slightly. any pictures or info would be awesome! thanks!

I took a sawzall to the crap I didn't want, put tube in to reinforce the things I wanted, and should have realized that I'd have been better off cutting way more stuff originally.

Probably not the answer you're looking for.
